I have Windows Vista on my HP laptop and when I go to access the internet via internet exployer it keeps bumping me off, sometimes when I retry to get back into the internet it will let me but most of the time it will bump me again. I am thinking it is some kind of setting I need to check but am not finding or not realizing which one it is. Thanks for any help. Misty:confused:

You may also want to check for things like a microwave or wireless phone that may be interfering with your signal. Weak signal is also a reason you may experience drops.

Have you scanned for viruses and malware? If so, what programs have you used?
Also, what happens if you use another browser such as Firefox or Chrome – does the problem also exist in a totally different browser?
Have you made sure all your critical and optional updates are installed both from Microsoft update as well as making sure any HP updates have been installed? There could be one to the wireless adapter that would improve performance.
I bought an HP laptop about 3 years ago. There was a motherboard issue that actually caused my wireless adapter to fail (among other things). You may want to go to the HP site and check the serial number for any warranty issues that may exist on your particular model.
