MemberI’ve just changed my OS from windows98 to windows XP Pro.
1. In Win98, when I want to view the content of a multisession CD I just click on the cd, then properties, volume, then a list of the content of the CD appeared and I can choose which one I want to open. But in XP, after I click properties I can’t find “volume” tab. So I cannot open all the files in my CD except the last one on a multisession disc.
2. I don’t know how to set the folders so that when we explore it shows the thumbnail/details of the file content without opening it. In win98 it was “view as web page”.
Please help. Thanks.

Participantwell first you should open up “My Computer”…
1. you shouldnt have to go to the properties of the cd to view its contents, just single click it in the explorer pane
2. there should be a View menu… pull that down and click details (to see information like file size, etc) or thumbnails (obviously to see small previews of the files if they’re multimedia)hopefully that answers your questions well enough, if not you’ll have to clarify

MemberThanks for your reply tigerblade, but it doesn’t work:
1. Single clicking it will ONLY show the LAST session of the multisession cd. Pls try to figure out cos I really need to open my files.
2. Already went to “choose details” and “thumbnails” option before but that’s not what I meant. I only want to see the thumbnail of the file when it’s highlighted, like in win98. Just wondering if XP can do that.

Memberif you are in the folder, click on tools, then on folder options. then on the general tab, click to show common tasks in folders. if you have your folder view set to anything other than thumbnail, you can see the thumbnail under details in the common tasks. if you don’t see it, click on the arrow next to the word details to expand that section. Hope that helps.

Participanti’ve never heard of a cd not showing all its contents… the only thing I can think of is that somehow perhaps your CD burning software simply overwrote the existing data instead of adding to it? otherwise there should be no reason for it to only show one session, since sessions dont make any difference to windows, only to the burning software
