I have hp pavilion with windows vista, and can not connect to to the internet wirelessly !!!! and I get this massage (This computer does not have a wireless network adapter installed and configured)!!!!. This start happing about 2 months ago. what do i need to fix this?
I had an HP for awhile and I started having similar problems. Turned out mine was a motherboard issue that was actually covered under warranty. You might want to start by going to the HP website and entering the information about your computer – they’ll show you possible warranty issues, and describe the symptoms that would make them cover it under the warranty. My experience with them was fantastic.
If it is no longer covered under warranty – you may have a bad network adapter. It happens. If this is the case they can be replaced.
You should also check and make sure you have all the driver updates for your existing network adapter. Typically, looking at the optional updates available through Windows Update, or going to the device in the device manager will let you check for an update. The HP site should also list any available updates under your particular machine.
That’s all the ideas I have. Maybe someone with more hardware experience can weigh in on this one.
