hey i knw theres a software that out the name of song playing in winamp as ur online status. but I was wondering if there any program to do the same with window media player.
even if it is there, I ‘m trying to make one for myself bt just having a hard time to have acces to yahoo api, can anybody please help me?
I’m gonna take a gamble and say that you’re coding in VB. So a quick solution would be to get Pat or JK’s api spy, have it give you the code for reading the song title from WMP, then have it give you the api for changing the text in the Yahoo message box and then the api for clicking the send button. Then just have your program read the WMP track title every second and if it’s different to what it’s got in memory for the last one then send the message to Yahoo.
But, and I’ve said this over and over, why do you think anyone is going to care what you’e listening to? it’s not like they can hear it.
thanx buddy, i’ll try this way
and by the way.. it doesnt matter to me if they cant hear it. it satisfies me coz i’m a programmer.
In that case why use WMP and not just hook into windows media player and make the app play the mp3’s its’ self?
Pat or jk spy didnt do wat i want. anyway.. thanks a lot for ur help.
I’ll keep trying. Actually I just want to see coz I knw its possible some how. All i need the string returned containing the current file and put that string as a status in messenger. I hv been looking in wmp api but i dont knw…:( I’m not a expert but i have to be the 1
Why use API when you can just make media player part of a VB app?
