April 17, 2005 at 12:21 am #119568ArsenalParticipantMy friend plays and is obsessed with it. I would get it but I can’t stand to pay money per month for a game.
April 17, 2005 at 2:17 am #119571m3rcyMemberagreed. i don’t get why they do that. the rip offs. hahah.
another reason i don’t really wanna touch it is because of the obsession. i don’t wanna start living at the computer like i used to just a while ago.April 17, 2005 at 11:52 pm #119565OreoMemberWell, we had WoW and EQII at the same time for a bit. I have to say that after playing WoW for a while, my husband and I cancelled the account. We tried it for one month and found EQII to be so much better. I found I could solo when I wanted to on EQII and find a group when I need it. If I ask a question in EQII some one is nice and will help out. People are also quite mature and there’s not a lot of junk going on. In WoW, I found it OK to solo (as a summoner),groups I found to be unorganized and quite rude…they’d just get what they needed and leave without everyone in the group getting what they needed. But what REALLY made us cancel the account was the fact that American, European (and my guess Austrailian) servers were all different.
We were going to play with my brother-in-law, but he’s in Spain and our servers were not compatible. So I WROTE Blizzard (who makes WoW)….they answer was something like “Tell your brother-in-law to buy the AMERICAN version and get another account.” So, basically, they wanted him (or us) to plunk down another $50 to get a game we already had so we could play with one another….RIDICULOUS… At least in EQII we can play with one another, no matter what game version. Anyway, this is not really meant for opinion…so I’ll stop here. So, depending on what servers you have, Anna, I might know some people who can play with you. I know some on US servers and then there’s my little bro-in-law on the Spanish ones.

The quality of people you interact with is also entirely dependant on your level, the area, time of day and just server in general. I find that lower level players just don’t care, and will be rude. But a 60 is generally much more mature and helpfull.
The other day I did a Stockades run in SW with the best group ever, and I mean this literally. They were beyond polite and cooperative, but as we had cleared the entire instance and were about to leave, I realized I missed to loot one elite boss corpse, and if you know the Stockades, the mobs respawn at a ridiculous rate. The group actually went all the way back in, re-killing every single mob just so I could kill and loot this one elite’s corpse all over again. I was beyond shocked.
…then again, this morning some guy in IF apparently reported me to the abuse team for taking my threats to a bread vendor a little too seriously, even after I apoligzed and explained it was only in good humor. :p
Other than that one Stockades run that caught me by surprise, I’d agree in saying WoW players are infact pretty rude in general, but I still can’t pry myself away from it. 😀
oh, and on the subject of EQII. enjoy. 😉

Actually now that I think about it, that doesn’t make sense. Hunter is the only class you can solo reasonably with.anyways, if anybody’d like to play alongside me, you can find me most often as “Zila” on Blackhand (alliance), or “Khaani” on Mal’ganis (horde). 🙂
April 19, 2005 at 8:59 pm #119566OreoMemberOMG…thank you SO much for that link….that was SO funny. And you’re right….sometimes you do find good people. I just found it odd when I thanked some one for helping me people made a big deal about it. A bunch of them were like “OMG…she said ‘thank you’ wow…a polite person.” and I was like…”Uhhh…you just helped me…of course I’d say thank you.” ahh…anyway…if you get a chance to try out EQII, my husband and I are on Antonia Bayle and we’ll play with you. You can actually try it for free up to a certain level. I’ll find the link and post it here.
Edit: Here’s the free trial: Trial of the Isle You can try out the Isle of Refuge…and try different character types, etc….
January 21, 2007 at 5:28 pm #119567Sue30MemberI am a big fan of WoW. The way I look at it, everyone has their own hobbies, watching movies and tv to playing cards etc. I have other things I like to do but my husband and I really enjoying playing WoW. We both play on the Alextrazza server and have about 8 alts. My highest being a 61 shammy. My favorite 🙂
There is such a thing as playing it too much, but when the nights are cold or the money is low, well its a fun thing to do together. We do make sure to get out on the town for a bit or hang out with friends.
