ParticipantSpoiler all the way:
I’ve never read the comics, only seen the cartoon version every once in a while. (Hey it was good cartoon show!) I was really shocked that they killed off The Professor =( and Scott. I had previously heard about Jean becoming The Phoenix, so i kind of expected her to die. When Magneto was turned human it was a nice twist at end to see that he could maybe regain his powers once again (with the metal checkerpiece moving a bit). But yeah just had to let out what i saw and thought on this… so i put it as spoiler.
Edit: Oh and when Mystique turned human and Magneto just left her that was kind of a shock too…
Plus i think it was kind of expected that Rogue would want to turn human and that she would actually go through with it…Oh and by the way i thought it was a good movie. It kept me interested.

Message to X3 Moviegoers
Seeing The Last Stand this weekend? IGN has an important tip.May 22, 2006 – You’re planning to see X-Men: The Last Stand this weekend, right? We expect most of you are. That being the case, apart from our regular reporting on the movie, IGN FilmForce now asks you to do one important thing. If you’re an X-Men fan, you’ll regret it if you don’t! At the theater this weekend, when the credits roll, when the audiences begins to filter out of the exits… keep your seat. And then, perhaps, share this little secret with a few of your friends: the movie isn’t over.
We don’t want to spoil anything for you, but we want you to know that the scene that follows isn’t your typical post-credits tack-on. It’s a coda for one of the main characters. The scene is maybe 30 seconds in length, but it’s enough. And it will surely be one of the more talked moments in the fan community.
Think you know what this scene is? Guess all you want, but chances are that you won’t see it coming.
Major mutant war happens this Friday! Wolverine yells, “Hold the line!” – that stand’s not easy. All you have to do is hold on through the end credits – that’s much easier. You don’t want miss the coda!
I waited till the end…..;)

MemberI liked this movie alot but I wish they would have made the Pheonix story have a little more to it.
They are going to have some Spin off movies which I can’t wait for.

ParticipantOH! I loved this movie, this is a definite buy on DVD. When I saw it, it inspired me to go re-watch X-Men and X2, gotta love the 4 disc collector’s edition :P.
I really think it is set up for a sequel, here is my justification:
-Spoilers – Highlight to view-
In the end of the first one, Magneto is shown playing chess, then during the second one he breaks free, just something he does to pass the time, and at the end of X3, he was playing chess. If I remember correctly, from the comics, Apocalypse was the X-Men’s greatest enemy, so why should they end a series with only a fight for a cure?
End of movie rant, now some general questions:
-Spoiler – Highlight to view-
For those of you that read the comics, I don’t remember Phoenix being killed, I thought she was able to realize who and what she was and fight for good again with the X-Men?I don’t rememeber Prof. X dieing either… or Scott, I remember Jean and Scott getting married and having kids, at least that was in the cartoon?
I know they may not be following the comic to a T, but shouldn’t they at least get the major details right? I may be remembering all this wrong…
End of Spoiler.hatedjealousy:
That white sticks out like a sore thumb, do this:

It’ll match the background exactly.June 6, 2006 at 12:28 pm #144477sarahtowny
MemberIs this the ending that you all are talking about? If so hey it was great to watch ๐

Participantshadowdogmu… what does the first part of your justification have to do with anything? that doesn’t mean anything about any sequels at all.
i have heard they’re working on a Wolverine movie, as well as a movie that will follow Magneto’s earlier years.

ParticipantBecause it a similar link, just think about it. I mean not being anything strong, but at least it’s something, I mean if they end the first one like that, and the third…
-Spoiler – Highlight to view-
Besides Tigerblade, you saw the ending after the credits, Prof. X is -not- dead, they wouldn’t make a big scene out of that, especially after the credits if they had no intentions of continuing the story.
End of Spoiler.Kudo:
I would take Apple’s 1080p Trailer over that crappy Dell web-quality one ๐

ParticipantDragonSlayerz wrote:Also what happened to Night Crawler? He was in the second movie why isn’t he in the third?i’ve heard a few stories thus far… take your pick as to which is the real reason. one is that there were too many blue mutants. mystique and beast, and nightcrawler would make three. three’s a crowd, apparently.
the other is that the actor didn’t get along with the producers/directors and they decided to split.

Josh Holloway was offered the role of Gambit, but turned it down because the character was too similar to his character on “Lost” (2004). As a result, the character was never added to the film since this would have been a special cameo put in later had Josh decided to sign on.
