I found this reg key in a local paper, it turns the test mode on with multiple ID.

My version uses the key value in the Yahoo! SDK which you are implying.

It’s used for testing Your own plugins on yourself when making them.

Only i use a value higher than “1”

but both do the exact same thing.

So Yeah these should work on 8.0 Full Also.

I dwlded the first patch and can open a second yahoo ok but it imediately errors and closes???

Im not 100% which yahoo I have…it says 8.1.0.195 and
8.0.0.1
do I need a different patch?

All the patch does is add a DWORD Value named Plural to the Registry.
Then then Value Data is set to something higher then 0
If the Value Data is set to 0 then multiple instances are disabled.

The Registry method is provided by Yahoo themselves.

I use Yahoo Messenger 8.1.0.195 and it works fine for me without any errors.

Also make sure that you have enough free memory to run more then one
instance of yahoo messenger.

Check and see if it is the registry entry that is used to allow multiple instances is whats causing the error or not.

HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareYahoopagerTest

Then as stated should be a DWORD Value named Plural

simply change the Value Data to 0 and then see if you get the same error.
If you do then you are not getting the error because of the patch.

I’m sure it’s obvious and I’m just over looking it but, I just can’t figure out how to add my second yahoo username after putting in the patch that updated the registry to plural.

You open a 2nd Yahoo! Messenger window/session, and sign in with the second ID.
