Why is the sound quality on yahoo 11+ much worse than in yahoo 10 ?
the sound quality sounds like the codec works for a few seconds at a good bitrate but suddenly lowers the bitrate and it sounds very muffled , almost like a phonecall?
me and the chat partner usin both the latest yahoo version.
Yahoo only uses the DSP Truspeech codec in room and conference voice chat which is low 16bit and ancient.
Are you talking about calling this person in IM, aka the SIP protocol Call that depends on connection speed?
Yes i mean the 1 on 1 talk with someone.
on yahoo 10 its perfectly fine and stays at the same quality over long periods of time.
yahoo 11 , the quality just drops within seconds to something that sounds like a very very poor datarate codec.
it seems like in yahoo 11 they use some sort of codec that adjusts the datarate automaticly and it seems not to be in favor of sound quality.
