MemberI seem to have developed a 60 cycle tone when I press talk in yahoo chat. There is 0 level with a red square but the mic is still live. I don’t have this problem in skype or even sending voice mails in yahoo just chat. Any ideas?

Memberwelcome to the BBB – to get a better reply and more help you really should post your problem in the yahoo forum as those that handle yahoo best hang out in there mainly. would be good to let them know as much information as you can like how long your problem has been present and what kind of system you have. the more detailed the information the better suggestion you will find. we have a great bunch of people here at the BBB that will help you out. they may suggest you try our IRC chat and see if your problem appears there as well. anyway welcome aboard and good luck.

MemberHi My.
And my welcome to BBB too. 🙂I know nothing about “60 cycle tone” – but I guess/suspect/wonder if that is actually a good FEATURE of YM, not a bug !!
When you TALK in a voice chat, IF there is noone connected (with sound) who is hearing you, you hear a distinctive whine.
This is very deliberate – in case you are not watching the screen, but simply sitting back talking – it gives immediate AUDIO feedback to basically say “you’re wasting your breath”!To “get rid” of that whine, simply get someone in, and connected with audio.
If you STILL get the whine, yet you confirm that another person in the chat IS hearing you, THEN you have a different problem.April 17, 2006 at 9:39 am #142523williamlee
MemberI apologize If my attempt to direct you to the proper forum, (strickly to give your post the best attention it could possible get). upsets you. I done so only in the best of intent. I can assure you it won’t happen again with me. As for my post on supernatural. It happens to be where it belongs in the off topic within the community center forum. Enjoy your day
