Hello Everyone: My brother just got and put up a new computer it is a Home edition xp
At first he set up the yahoo messenger audio wizard using an old headphone, even though it seem to pass the tests, it kept cutting out when talking to me and he realized there was a break in the wire, so he bought a New Headphone with microphone attached. But now when he tries to go thru the audio wizard tests, he gets a pop-up ” Please Stop Other Audio Applications Before Starting”>>> as far has he knows he has nothing esle running!!!
Does anyone know what he might try to complete the tests? ThanksJuly 29, 2005 at 9:24 pm #126811Eagle_KiwiMemberFirstly, I don’t believe that the new headset (the name for headphone with mic attached) can be the cause of that problem.
Try closing all other programs and see if that fixes it.
If not, then try Ctrl-Alt-Del, and check there is nothing showing there in the APPLICATIONS section. (If anything IS there, END it!)Also try running the Audio Setup Wizard by itself, i.e. not via YM.
You can get it here then put it on your desktop (or anywhere) and run it any time you like, even if not online.Let’s know if any of that fixes the problem, Tom.
