MemberHi
Last night I was talking to my friend and he turned his cam on and talked to me, anyway he said goodnight, but the cam stayed on for ages and I kept on doing im’s to say your cam is on but he could not see them, even pressed buzz etc but nothing. Then this morning I use my mobile to check if I have any offlines and there were 53!! No one would send that many I am lucky if there are 3 or more usually. Anyway when I tried to view them it went to error and they just went.
So was there a problem with Yahoo last night??
Many thanks

KeymasterThis is odd. Are you sure your friend said he was signing off? Perhaps he just wanted to leave the cam on if anybody wanted to see. Were those 53 messages you received from him or someone else? As far as I know I was using yahoo last night and it was working fine for me.

MemberI was using Yahoo last night and around 10:30 our time, I did experience a problem whereby I was sending messages with no reply. The person on the other end had not just started ignoring me, I know they wouldn’t.
So maybe it was just a UK problem, Sarah?

ParticipantYahoo! are going thru a changeover phase, you will experience problems.
It was more than likely your connection was dropped and was never reported to messenger and you were typing but nothing was going thru but his was but were been stored online as offlines…
But then again thats speculation, could be a number of reasons for that and until yahoo finish with the updates people will remain to have problems.

Surely if the connection was dropped, this wouldn’t be the case?

ParticipantDoubt it,
Chat is removed from the UK and Ireland, this we know.
Servers are in the US.
Why have a UK only problem?
Yahoo has a habit of leaving id’s look like they are still signed in…specialy banned id’s…they look like they are signed in all the time in some cases.
sometimes you have people showing as online on pager till you refresh your list and some magically show as offline..
