I was reading through a couple of topics here that ponder the question about whether or not it is possible to view someone’s yahoo cam without their permission and how to view someone who is invisible. I don’t like being someone to revive a dead topic but I have some sad news that both these things are VERY MUCH possible. How do I know? Because someone has been threatening a close friend of mine with the tools!
The only reason I came to this website is because I was trying to find out how this prick managed to do this. I’ve searched the web for hours looking for ways that this was accomplished, including those porn-banner-filled hackers sites but have come up with nothing solid. This stalker knows when my friend is online no matter what and has sent my friend webcam pics taken from my friend’s webcam. And it’s impossible that these pics were taken via a webcam chat session with another friend. I won’t say why.
Wherever these tools are, I’m glad nobody can find them easily because they SUCK. Invisible mode and cam requests are made for a purpose and just think how you would like it if someone could see you when you were tryin to get some privacy or worse… saw YOUR cam without your permission.
Just for the record, my friend’s contacted the Organisation for Cyber Crime in his/her local area and is looking to press charges for harassment and more. Why? Because he/she has been absolutely terrified.

If it is possible, then there must be some serious bugs in Yahoo! Instant Messenger. Still, people who search for such bugs/exploits with the intensions to harrass people should be shot. Your friend is absolutely right about contacting such organisations. Question is: will it get him/her anywhere?

Your friend should also absolutely send an email describing the harassment to abuse@yahoo.com
Provide as much detail as possible. They may also want to contact the police.They may not be getting the information through yahoo at all. If your friend has a backdoor trojan on his computer like Back Orifice, the person could easily know exactly what programs your friend is running (i.e. know when yahoo is running) and could even take pictures with the webcam and send them to his/her self. I’d have your friend do a virus scan, and find a scanner for the common types of trojans.
exactly ashyn, in this case I do not belive the problem lyes within the program but within the user. It’s very easy to trick someone who isn’t very computer literate into accepting such programs and there are a ton of them. I have seen them in action and know this is very possible, also very illegal in this case and I would suggest legal action as I am sure this person has left numerous footprints or will continue doing this which you could catch them in the act if you do not let them be aware you are tracking them.. have your friend seek legal help.. people like that give “hackers” a bad reputation as being abusive privacy breaking sicko’s but rather they are morons using a program someone else made..
i know how to do that kind of…..but it only takes u off there cam viewing list…..until they stop camming. but the trick is u have to be on there cam to do it.if they were to stop there cam then turn it on again. u would be off…
answer – are you saying that the person could view her webcam when she was not even logged onto yahoo or only when she was? I am so curious because I think that I have someone that is trying to do this to me as well…..this is scary!
Once again someone claiming to have the ability to secretly view peoples web cams. The last time someone staked a claim to this, it was from a 3rd party, that saw it on a tv show or something. This time it’s a third party, that took cam shots of a friend of theirs. Just because someone says something it’s automatically true? Sounds to me like your friend got trojaned and someone hacked into their pc. Once again let me repeat that it is IMPOSSIBLE to secretly view someones webcam without them knowing. These RUMORS have been floating around yahoo for years.
Another way that your friend is being harassed(getting pics of her webcam and knowing when shes online) is this “harasser” has two ID’s and one he is using to “be nice” and then turning around and using the other account to harass her with.

there are programs out there to view peoples cam without them knowing, but the thing is they know ur there, but they cant view ur yahoo profile or info or anything not even ur s/n…however there is a prog that lets u get on ppls cam w/o them knowing at all…it doesnt hav a name…its jus there…its like a gun that shoots armor peircing bullets..u know its out there but uv neva seen it and u prolly neva will….now this prog u will not be able to buy..or get off the internet…u hav to make it and u cant get the plans off the internet to make it..i know because iv done it before but deleted it cause i only did it cause i was bored..i did not torment anybody wit but i did try it and it does work..now…this person thats being stalkd…that person is being stalkd by a hacker..the only way to get rid of this guy is a few things and its best to do all of them…unplug ur cam first thing….second-call an organization like the person said they did. third-don’t let the person know uv calld the cop or w/e cause ur gonna want there information..ur gonna needa get their IP address and find out everything u can…they hav ppl for this…theyre calld the FBI, hackers that r willing to help, etc, etc….ok bak to the cam on and off thing…….liek some 1 said before…the person being stalkd has prolly been hackd and theres most likely a back door trojan on the comp that allows the sender to view the persons cam w/o them knowing and turn it on and off when they feel like it….its a cheap hacking trick really..any decent hacker can do it…the only way to get rid of this guy is to completely reinstall ur comp and get a new IP address……..well i hope this helps u little pplsCaine[/b]:
Your claims that there is a program that will allow a person to view someone’s webcam without their permission are unfounded and unprovable. If you could send me the source code for this suppossed program, I might lend you some credibility. I think you are mistaking anonymous access with unauthorized access. There is only one possible way to view someone’s webcam without them knowing(through Yahoo), and that is if their webcam settings are set to “allow any user to view my webcam[/b]“. The protocol requires access be granted by the owner unless the previous noted setting is enable.On a different note regarding trojan programs, these are easy to hide, and can do the following things remotely: log keystrokes taken from the keyboard, take screenshots, open and close programs(including webcam capture programs), reboot the computer, shutdown the computer, etc. These programs are easily disguised in any executable program, and can even email a specific person once the trojan has been executed and has infected the system.
These programs were originally designed by System Administrators to make their job of installing software and accessing PC’s over Local Area Networks, and Wide Area Networks easier. They are now being used maliciously by “script kiddies” and low-lives. I would suggest everyone who uses a computer and/or the internet to raise their awareness of these types of programs, no matter what their knowledge of computers.

Well just because you “didn’t bother to keep the source code” to this unfounded program, I am supposed to believe you? Well I’m sorry but I don’t. Secondly, if you removed all of the unneccesary swear words, and incomprehensible stuff from your post; you repeated what I posted previously.
Just a simple piece of advice: If you want to have some credibility in your posting, you might want to try the following. Use proper english grammar and sentence structure. You also might want to use a spell checker. Also using profanity not only destroys your credibility, but also makes you look very immature.
I didn’t mean to throw this topic off, however I felt that the previous post was only repetitious and didn’t bring anything new to the subject. My previous post however was meant to enlighten those who have no knowledge of the subject. If I offended anyone (Caine) it was unintentional, and I apoligize. I am no expert and am only stating my opinion here.
