MemberHowdy all,
Has anyone heard of or experienced the wrath of “YAHOO CHIEF” the booter? For the past several months he has been stalking some of the adult rooms, including one I created and host, booting people left and right. He’s got over 20 different usernames he enters the room with and chats (all bearing his unique “YAHOO CHIEF” tattoo in wingdings font) and many many dozens of usernames he uses from outside the room to boot with. I’ve given up keeping track of his usernames and have no idea what else to try.
A number of us have been filing abuse reports on his usernames for months, Yahoo has done nothing. Now many of us have ytunnel or are on yahelite, but many others (especially new visitors) are not and this guy is just a menace.
Does anyone know of anything that can be done? I’ve ran out of ideas and along with the regs of the room am tired of this idiot.
Thanks,

MemberYahoo terms of service only allows you to have one account, so you could get him with that right there, if he’s as big a pest as you say, then if you are persistent with your complaints along with other peoples along with yours, his accounts will be terminated. Booting is not really a bad thing, yes it’s annoying, BUT theres a lot worse things then getting booted, people make a big deal out of nothing, and that’s what fuels people like this Yahoo Chief you are talking about. Yahoo has bigger fish to fry then people booting others off of messenger. If he has 20 different ids with anything similar in them, yahoo should deactivate them, you need to make a list of all of his ids, and report that to yahoo
If this guy can’t boot people off of ytunnel then he’s a very poor booter, i had ytunnel and the chat rooms i hung out in had people who could boot me off of it. Theres a lot worse things that can happen then getting booted off of messenger, u can get ytunnel to prevent this, or some other chat client, or use the java version.
If enough people complain (which is what u need to encourage them to do) yahoo will look into it, but for the most part yahoo doesn’t really care unless someone is really harrassing someone or doing some kind of hacking. I’m not even sure were to send a complaint, last time i called to complain they told me to goto their help sections, which i think is ridiculous, if ima spend my time an money on a phone call they should take me serious, an i remember makin a complaint months ago on the phone, an they told me to report to abuse@yahoo.com , they don’t have a very good program to deal with abuse.

Memberreporting to yahoo will do no good i have been in chat over three years. I hung out in one of the depression support rooms that have been turned into a fight room. You wouldnt believe the things that go on in there. Booting and hacking are a part of daily life. im one of the few in the room who is actually there to help people. Recently they have begune a charictor assisnation of me. Then have sent me trojans and boot me constantly. I have spent the better part of 6 months reporting it along with many others. Yahoo simply ignores the abuse reports. i have even reported it over the phone. There all those people who really make it misserable in chat. Serveral in our room have decided to see if they can have someone commite suicide on camera.
Its all been reported. if anyone has any ideas what can be done let me know pleaseDecember 2, 2003 at 5:11 am #94853shifter
