MemberI used to be able to use this but now when I type it in the dos screen opens and flies by so fast I don’t get a chance to read it. How can I make it display and stop so I can read it?
Thanks, Bill

MemberAll you have to do is go to Start>Run and type cmd (if you’re on Windows 2000/XP that is. If you’re on Win 98 or earlier, it’s command) and then press “OK.” Then in the Command Prompt, just type netstat -n. If you need more help with it, refer to google. However, you should note that you can’t just grab IP addresses from chat rooms, you can only get them from people who you have a direct connection with. I still don’t understand what makes people want to get IP addresses from people on yahoo.

MemberUmmm, did you even read my question. I know how to use the netstat -n. My question was how do I keep it on the screen long enough to read it? It flies by too quickly and then closes.

MemberYea,
People often assume u should already know to type in command on the run line. Then an old dos like command window will open up so u can execute nestate and view the results.

MemberThank you. Now that worked for me. Just typing in netstat -n in the start/run worked, but like I said the dos like window closed befoe I could read it. Command opens a window, and there I type in netsat -n. Thank you again.

MemberNotice I said “go to start>run and type cmd…” Please do read the answers to your questions thoroughly and actually try what is said, instead of just assuming it’s wrong.

And well of course- you can always REALLY report them— everyone knows how well that works

MemberIt is probably time to lock these threads. And people who are really annoying aren’t scared by IP address threats.

MemberI have to agree with stupidisasstupiddoes. People have gotten all they need out of this particular thread and the questions/answers are just getting redundant. That, and no one is really contributing to the issue with anything useful.

MemberIf you know the commands, you can get both the IP and MAC addresses using DOS (Command Prompt in XP). The commands are all over, just google ARP and MAC.
