as of recently everytime i use yahoo messenger, my windows xp eventually locks up. i’ve used system restore a few times, and i still get the same results. i’ve also downloaded older versions of yahoo and my computer still locks up. i’ve repeatedly uninstalled and reinstalled various programs and i’m still not having any luck. anyone else having the same problems i am? id on’t know what to do. i can’t even use yahoo anymore because i know i’m just going to get locked up.
I use XP Pro and it works fine.*knocks on wood* maybe you need to get the free updates for xp OR maybe it’s not your OS…maybe it’s the PC OR it could be that you have conflicting programs. Are you loading any other programs BEFORE Yahoo! when you restore???? Perhaps there’s a conflict…..did you d/l any programs and then have the trouble start with messenger. The best thing to do it to calmly look at the problem and take it apart backwards step by step……you’ll find out what it is….and if nothing I said works I’m sure someone else here will have some more suggestions for you. 🙂
yes, few days back new yahoo crashed my windows xp evrytime i started it. i dunno why but then i installed older version and no problem.
i reinstalled the system bcz of 5 dumps and crashes in 1 day.
and now i ‘m again using new yahoo 5.6 and evrything is fine.
(by the way, wat exactly did u mean by LOCK UP??? )
try using it in safe mode huh…
I have XP Pro and also use Yahoo! Messenger. As far as I can tell I have no compatibility problems with Yahoo and XP. Try running the XP Compatibility Wizard for Yahoo Messenger and see if it comes up with any issues.
