since last week, for some reason, i have not been able to recieve messages in chat. I can type a message, send it, but it dissapears and isnt visible in the chat window, and the same for receiving messages, i know they are sent but cant read them,,any ideas??

Driven to distraction by constant, circular arrivals at the same FAQ site when I tried to contact Yahoo I found a site called something like “Yahoo Customer care: does it exist?” on which lots of bewildered people were posting about similar problems.
Somebody on there reported that Yahoo have a server down and that it could be several days before it is fixed.

July 4, 2006 at 1:37 pm #147377Leapy LeoMemberYes but, Arjay, there is only one server down so not every Yahoo customer is going to be affected. You probably are unfortunate in that you fall into the affected area, like me. I’ve had my problems about the same length of time as you mention.
Don’t start taking your computer apart if this is your only problem! Is everything else functioning okay?

I tried to unistall and reinstall yahoo messenger and I still have the same results.
July 16, 2006 at 8:22 pm #147375shifterMemberHave you tried uninstalling and reinstalling Y!M? If you’re using the beta 8 version, try going back down to version 7.5, or vice versa.
July 16, 2006 at 8:26 pm #147380GrgXMemberYes I tried that 5 times, still no workie. Reverting from v5- v6- v7-v8 and now I just installed version 5 back again.
