ParticipantI think it’s absolutly awesome. They have made some minor changes like more icon changes, both on the desktop, and in the Messenger. As for problems, you will have to check that out for your self, as not everyone experienced them.
Note though that you still cannot shrink the contact list any more than you could in the BETA, version 6 all around does a nice job keeping flooders under control in the chat rooms, and because of the new protocols, very little booters work.
The thing that makes me a little upset it that they limit you to 400 songs on LANCHcast Radio for free before they lesson the quality of it, and not allow you to use your own radio station, and skip songs.
Anyone have a working clone yet? 😉May 24, 2004 at 8:45 pm #79256Real World
MemberFor some reason the audibles aren’t loading up? is anyone else having this problem.
it just keep saying loading..loading, but it doesn’t do anything

MemberIts good but they didn’t fix the “send mail” feature. When you click send mail to anyone in the contact list or the address book, it opens the Outlook Express… it should open your yahoo mail to compose the mail… like MSN does. 🙁

Audibles are working great for me. I’m running Windows XP Pro. They added a bunch of new audibles since the beta, too.

That’s because Outlook Express is your default email program. In your browser go to Tools, Internet Options, and Programs, then in email pick Yahoo! Mail. If it is not there then do as if you were installing Yahoo! Messenger again and when you check off stuff check off everything except Making yahoo mail your default email program and download and install that. It should do it.
On a different note they did add the tab that lets you check mail a lot easier. Beta didn’t have it.

MemberThere are so many errors in this “release” that should have gone with the beta, but its been really rushed to release for the IM Live contest.
The contest will go well, if anyone can get Messenger to work long enough for them to compete!

MemberWouldn’t it be a hoot if the contestants on IM Live were continuously booted?
It may be just the whiff of coffee Yahoo! needs to address security issues more stringently.

MemberI was thinking similiarly, there are still issues that let booters boot people at server for YMSG, but Yahoo! would say, well, it is free!

ParticipantAny plans of Yahoo to support the ICQ network?
Would change immediately.May 27, 2004 at 2:38 am #79250rafaelemt
