Hi,
A contact I deleted from my messenger list, gets added on automatically at the next logon. I’ve tried deleting it countless times from both the messenger and the address book. Still, it gets added on at the next logon. I’ve tried ignoring too.Strange ! 🙁
I wonder if somehow your “deletes” are not getting through to the Yahoo nerve centre.
I’d suggest maybe try using the web-based YM (here) and delete this contact through there – THEN see if they’re gone for good.Let’s know if this helps or not. If not, hopefully someone can come up with more ideas.
And – welcome to BigBlueBall – glad you could join us, Alex. 🙂Problem is Yahoo!’s integration with their addressbook, I would first login and remove the entry from the addressbook then go to http://messenger.yahoo.com/edit/ and remove them from the buddy list.
Ya dear you are right this happens sometime that you have deleted somebody from your list and you have found his name again in your list this is because due to yahoo server link problem actually what happens that all yahoo servers of world are connect to each other and whenever you make change in your account the information is tranmitted to all their sister servers of the rest world but sometimes this could not happen properly this makes some conflict and to solve this server try to restore previous settings in this way your deleted buddy again added not only in removeing this problem also exist in adding new buddy sometime you have added someone in your buddy list but in next login you will found that buddy is not in your list why ? this is due to same reason. solution is that remove your buddy by going to your account by web explorer or login web messanger page( http://messenger.yahoo.com/webmsgr/fmsgr.php ) there you will found those buddy names delete the name from there and in adding try to add buddy by e-mail invitation to your friend’s e-mail address when he will accept you invitation his name will be automatically added to your buddy list. I think this may help to solve problem if it works let us inform surely…… waiting in your responce. 😀 😎 :new:

As per the instructions from Eagle_Kiwi and Kumari, I tried deleting the PROBLEM contact by loggin on to the yahoo web messenger. But im unable to delete the contact. In fact, I tried one of the other contacts. I couldnt delete that one too.

Delete the id from buddy list and from address book and place it in ignore list of messanger and must try deny-a-buddy s/w for removing your name from his buddy list.
To get s/w click here and go to tool page of site there you will get that.
One request that plz see my site and must give sugestion in guest book of site.

The server is not updating on their end so Yahoo still thinks that those SN are on his buddie list. He will either get a message saying he can’t ignor his own buddies even when it’s clear that they are not there or he will ignor them but next time he logs on the SN will be pulled out of the ignor list and back onto his buddy list.
