down loaded yahoo messenger 7.0 and 7.5 beta and the audibles would not work. when checked help said to update macro flash player and macro media updated both programs, but alas the audibles still will not work.
uninstalled messenger and downloaded again they still will not work. anyone else have this problem. if so how did you fix it. can receive audibles sent but cannot load my audibles to send to anyone 🙁
also has anyone else heard anything about yahoo being closed. we received an email about yahoo closing is this legit or not

All those messages that you get through messenger or e-mail about yahoo closing down are pure lies. So just don’t pass on the message because it’s not true. Just thought i’d answer that for you, hope you get your audible problem fixed.

March 29, 2006 at 7:12 am #140838StrigoiMemberI dont know what might be causing your problem but a few weeks ago i experienced a problem with my audibles.i couldnt use anything else but the Hello ones,it just wouldnt change to the other ones.but the problem seemed to solve itself cause they work just fine now.so what can i say?a server problem?it must be an external error,i’m sure.anyway best of lucks 🙂

March 30, 2006 at 8:31 pm #140832NettiMemberMy suggestions would be to first go into preferences and turn off your audibles… click ok and sign out of messy. Then log back in, turn the audibles back on and try them again.
Do you have any software running that would prevent a file from coming thru. Sounds like it’s being stopped before it gets to you.
Do you have that person’s settings set to NOT receive anything from them?
Next would be to ask if when you reinstalled messenger, did you TOTALLY remove it from your computer. Not only from add/remove programs, but also deleting the Yahoo folder, and going into your registery and removing the yahoo mention.
I know you’ve probably already done all this, but I had to ask.
April 1, 2006 at 5:11 am #140843airvendorParticipanti have none of my audibles working. i’am also not able 2 update my macromedia flash player.sometimes my messenger also does not sign in plz help!!!!!!!!!!!
April 7, 2006 at 2:02 am #140833DermotParticipantGo to control panel and add/remove program and remove yahoo! messenger.
before you do anything else go to your C (c) local disk and go to Program Files folder and delete the remaining Yahoo! folder.
Reboot your computer.
then come back online and re-download the latest Yahoo! messenger and update flash again if needed.
Your audibles should then work.
if they do not it may be an internet explorer issue.
go to http://update.microsoft.com and make sure your pc is up to date.
hope that helps.
🙂
April 8, 2006 at 5:31 am #140841wanda2farrisMemberhad to go and removed yahoo folder to reinstall tells you that yahoo messenger is already installed if you don’t the imvironment is now working but still no audibles. tried turning them off signing out and then signing back in and turning them back on. even tried restarting computer still not working
also had to go under explore and delete yahoo there also
I mainly use mozilla and not ie. pc is up to date
April 8, 2006 at 5:47 am #140834DermotParticipantgo to control panel and go to folder options
go to filetypes and make sure all url and gopher filetypes ftp , http etc have a filetype associated with it.
firefox has a habit of messenger it up.
IE uses Mozilla also so you name the broswer not the frame its built on.
if yahoo messenger still has problems after that i suggest getting a registry cleaning program.
There may be msexic (or whatever way bill spells it) keys left in registry and will be read from new installation…thinking you already have files you dont.
