I’m not a great programmer (the fact is that I’m not a programmer at all ! 🙂 ), but what I can say is that with Y!M you can broadcast anything coming from a “video peripheral” or video capture device. Your webcam is a video device. So is a TV card. I tried and succeeded in broadcasting some TV channel through the messenger. But of course the debit is horrible.
I don’t really know whether it is possible or not to pass AVI or MPEG files (maybe by configuring a streaming program ???)

Keymasterjuhiblues, check out a program called SoftCam. It lets you broadcast and AVI, send effects, add overlays and much more. It’s a commercial program, but there is a 30-day free trial so you can check it out and see it does what you want.
Thanks to (maker of CamGrab for Yahoo and a bunch of other useful [url=”https://bigblueball.com/links/links_goto.asp?id=209″Yahoo Messenger utilities) for telling me about SoftCam.

MemberFor detecting IP adresses goto the command prompt and type “netstat”. There will be a list of connections and corresponding IP adresses. You can type “ping” to see a list of options as well.
