hey. i’m having a problem, I can’t connect to yahoo or MSN messenger via my laptop but on my desktop I can. I don’t have a firewall on my laptop or anything. however, I can connect to windows messenger on my laptop but not MSN messenger or yahoo messenger. what could be the problem with this?
Which error message do you get?
Also, how are you connecting to the Internet from your laptop?
Thanks.
well on yahoo messenger I don’t get an error message, it just tries to connect then I get box with options of try again, setup proxy and stuff like that. I tried using another cable wire, and all programs work with this new cable wire. so maybe it’s the wire, but so strange, if my previous wire wasn’t working, why only would windows messenger connect. hmm. through my laptop, I either using a router or I use it direct, but if I use it direct a connection won’t show up. so I use it through my laptop, otherwise I use my second isp.
I have a few ideas about your problem. There are special versions of MSN messenger specially for laptops and things. Although I don’y know the address I am sure you could find a downloadable MSN messenger for your laptop with google search. (http://www.google.com)
