Hello everyone! I use JAM for my chat and messenger but am having problems logging in today…..it keeps running through servers. I did connect once but could not get in rooms for chat. Is this because of Yahoo matinence? I was also wondering if there are any other clients like JAM that utilize the messenger service also? Any advice and suggestions will be greatly appreciated! Thank You to all!

I know Y!mlite, and Quick chat are both fixed with the new login .The link should provide you with where to find an updated version or if you like look at some of the other chat programs there , Dont sweat the small stuff .

December 27, 2003 at 4:46 pm #51950freddyMemberIn order to improve connections for their users, Yahoo! switched server locations yesterday, from California to the East Coast.
About 50% of Yahoo! .com users are actually outside of the US, and so a time of 8PM EST was chosen so that most users would not notice the few second disconnect that would take place.
Their servers have totally new IP and hostnames, Messenger receives the servers on the fly, and can choose one, and so it has no problems connecting. Yahoo! Chat clients use hard coded hostnames, that point to the old servers that have been replaced. Connecting to these servers puts you into what appears as a parallel Yahoo! Chat!
The protocol remains as before. There has been no upgrade for bootcodes, bots etc…

In java(YCHT) the xx is jcs, jcs1, jcs2 etc. Chat2, also called DHTML, uses dcs1, dcs2 etc and YMSG just uses cs1, cs2 and so on. I’m guessing DCN means Dynamic or possible Decentralized Chat Network.
