Yahoo tabs & ads

Down YM there is the advertisement bar and the tabs. I can’t see them on my pc but it works on a different pc. What’s wrong on my pc?

Hi there Sessaru – and welcome to BigBlueBall 🙂

I’d suggest the “tabs” at bottom of your YM list can easily be added/removed depending on your preferences – click Messenger, then Show/Hide, and you can easily remove the last 3 of the 6 ticks there to remove all the stuff (except advert) at BOTTOM of your list.

As for the advert – I can only suggest some people use various methods to block this ad – maybe such a block is on one of your PCs but not the other ??

I haven’t blocked the advertisement but I wonder why I don’t have it. I don’t want to block it, I want to have it. One advertisement from Windows Live Messenger was really useful and I want to have the advertisement bar on Y! Messenger too. Here’s a screenshot(you’ll see what I mean.):
And there are no tabs and no advertisement bar, why?

For ads to appear it depends on the screen resolution of your computer. I forgot the exact numbers, but if you have a smaller resolution the ad is not shown in messenger, but if you have a higher resolution it’s there unless you remove it using an Ad Remover like the one we provide here on BBB created by Tim.

My screen resolution is 1280 by 1024 and the ad appears for me. (But i choose to have it removed!)

Someone else who reads this may be able to be more specific in numbers for you, but i’m about 99.9% sure that the ad appears according to people’s screen resolutions.

I have the latest version of Yahoo! Messenger. I see an ad, my friend doesn’t. Why?

The ad in Messenger is only shown for users with big-screen resolutions. We want to make sure that people with older computers and monitors can use Yahoo! Messenger without an ad taking up too much of the experience.
