A buddy of mine has instructions on how to make your name on messenger have a line underneath it. It’s been around a lil while, dunno if there was ever anything on this site about it. You can also make status messages with more then one line.
http://www.zer-o.com/underline.html
Reese had a program that would make his status message move back and forth, dunno what it was exactly, but it was annoying to look at.
My buddy has some useful info on his site, and also some links for yahoo accounts, and a lot of other junk
June 9, 2003 at 4:46 am #61748NhyrvanaMemberall false info on the who is…
i wouldnt go there….June 9, 2003 at 5:09 am #61757JohnsonMemberWhy wouldn’t you go there? LMAO!!! Paranoid *cough cough* I could of pasted the info here easily, but wanted to give him some credit, he has put a lot of time and effort into his site, and he addresses a lot of USEFUL topics on there, if you are too paranoid to view it, then don’t, don’t see why you gotta make a big deal out of it (drama queen). If you want to talk about unsafe sites i will be more then happy to. I have never taken credit for other people’s work, which is something that happens a lot round good ole Yahoo! People are so ignorant, some will post about anything just to add to their big blue ball status LMAO@ BIG BLUE BALL STATUS. If you wanna sling some mud we can sling some mud darlin.

Author: Zero
Credit goes to Damian aka ProductThis is for making your name underlined on Yahoo Messenger.
This is not an exploit. It is a simple trick.Write a new status message. Such as
I am away from the computer
then press Ctrl+Return/Enter, and paste this symbol ¯ the desired amount of times and post up your status message! Also, thanks to Sam for mentioning this, you can use a method I mentioned above for making your status message appear

June 9, 2003 at 5:51 am #61756JohnsonMemberMy buddy is deaf, and this guy was harrassing him, and he tracked down his info from his old website, and he got his phone #, and he would harrass his roomate all day long, and his roomate freaked out, and made him change the info. You want me to have him put it back up so this guy can get it again to harrass his roomate?
June 9, 2003 at 6:18 am #61746NhyrvanaMemberanyone can hijack that domain or contest the ownership because of the false info.. or have it closed for having false info.
IF what you say is true…. edit info with host or registrars info…..
ICANN can close the domain and make it unavailable for reregister based on false info…..
godaddy offters to blanket names for 9 bucks a year……
and as i said.. you can legally have your host or registrars info in the address and phone spaces…June 9, 2003 at 1:14 pm #61741snugleupagainstMemberQuote:quote:Originally posted by Johnsondon’t see why you gotta make a big deal out of it (drama queen).
Yahoo! People are so ignorant,
If you wanna sling some mud we can sling some mud darlin.Johnson
I see you choose not to heed my past warnings. The others seem to have figured out that posting back to topic without disrespecting is not hard to abide by.Quote:quote:Originally posted by Nhyrvanaall false info on the who is…
i wouldnt go there….He did not stoop to name calling or abuse, simply stated his view and choice.
I have turned this problem you have proven to have over to Jeff and your Acct. is now in his hands.
AGAIN WARNING TO ALL:
Do not Disrespect and Abuse other Members when you post here at BBB!June 9, 2003 at 1:25 pm #61759freddyMemberI don’t want to be thought of as arguing with the moderator, but this is not the first post on this forum where nhyrvana has blatently disrespected a post of someone else.
Johnson obviously started off with good intentions of showing a trick, and totally unprovoked, nhyrvana decides its bad. This is disrespect to both Johnson, and that website. Why on earth did she take the time to do a lookup, why not just visit the page, which is quite clearly a plain HTML page with text based tips, no downloads, no spyware.
On another thread, the Y!Tunnel one, she blatently has disrespect for J_Hop who started off with a satement about Y!Tunnel being illegal, no abuse or anything in it, Nhyrvana replied instantly with a test of his knowledge, and how college graduates are more stupid than those with hands on experience, which is also disrespectful to people like myself and others studying.
This thread is about yahoo! and not the ins and outs of domain name management, and Nhyrvana might consider the fact she is currently registering domains in names other than hers, she is also not a lawyer.
Remember some of us have respect for other people, we don’t judge on their name, age, sex, race, education etc… We also like to give everyone a chance, we look at what they have to say offer, then evaluate it.
Please don’t think that me posting this is showing a disrespect to these boards, website, or indeed yourself the moderator. I think there is a huge amount of great stuff going on at this website and forums, but I have known this nhyrvana person (female by the way) a long time from a Yahoo! Chat room, and I know they are intent on causing trouble for those who have their own unique opinions and ways.I just thought it was worth mentioning, before people get into trouble.
June 9, 2003 at 1:49 pm #61740snugleupagainstMemberYES freddy that was all before I warned everyone and it stoped but Johnson chooses not to.
June 9, 2003 at 6:52 pm #61755JohnsonMemberDon’t take what i say out of context, i said “which is something that happens a lot round good ole Yahoo! People are so ignorant,” theres a pause there, i love using the word ignorant because most people give it a negative connotation and they don’t really know the true meaning of it, it means lack of knowledge, everyone is ignorant of something. The truth is, she is a drama queen, and she takes the stupidest things and blows them up, I WOULD NOT POST A SITE ON HERE THAT WASN’T SAFE. It wasn’t like it was a site with a bunch of programs, and i was suggesting to people to go there and download them, who here really thinks that i posted a site that was unsafe??? If anything you should be trying to get her banned, she disrespected me first, i sat here and tried to think of something appropriate for this forum, and i remembered the thing with underlining your name on messenger, and i used his tutorial, to make sure it worked, and then i posted about it, and then she says its UNSAFE, when its obviously in no way/shape/form unsafe. If you posted something you thought was useful to this site and someone said that it was unsafe how would u feel? what would you do? Sit and ignore it? Trust me if i disrespect someone or abuse them, you will know it, i was just stating the FACTS. I know that i create a lot of tension were ever i go, i have tried to be as nice as possible here, people wanna push me around, and that’s not gonna happen. Im very good at removing people from there pedastal’s, if you want an instantaneous headache, bad mouth me or tell me im a liar and you will get one. If she can prove that the site isn’t safe then i won’t post here anymore. I think it would be the moderators job to determine whether or not a site is safe or not.
Just remember i’m always two steps ahead of you b4 u step up to the plate.
June 9, 2003 at 7:04 pm #61742Xteria864Memberi tried the trick but i dont get it….
June 9, 2003 at 7:08 pm #61758freddyMemberWell said Johnson.
Xteria:
What this trick does is that users who have you on their lists, will see your name underlined in the buddy list, it doesn’t work in chat.
This works because pressing ctrl+enter in some windows controls creates a new line. So what happens is your status appears on a new line, because you started it off with a new line, and hence the ¯ symbol appears as though its underlining your name.
June 9, 2003 at 7:47 pm #61751coolguyj2Memberhey gr8 trick butt fails if ur nick is a lil longer, but still nice …. thanx jhonson and ur buddy
June 9, 2003 at 8:32 pm #61749shifterMemberSeems like a harmless enough site, safer than most. Don’t know what all the fuss is about. Some interesting bits of info on there for yahoo users…nothing major. thanks for the link Johnson.
June 9, 2003 at 9:07 pm #61754JohnsonMemberthanks, it is a harmless site with a lot of useful info about yahoo, and has some nice tutorials about a broad range of things. Nhyrvana doesn’t like me so she decided to bad mouth my post here, with absolutely NO merit, it’s pretty cut and dry really, tells us all a lot about her and what kind of person she is. The moderator doesn’t like me either, and she tries to burn me at the stake for defending myself(when i was disrespected 1st). Talking about having me banned is ridiculous, she disrespected me first, she should be the one being possibly banned, if you ban me this site will lose a lot of credibility. Its nice for some people to read between the lines and see what’s actually happening here.
I talked to jeff last night, an he said from time to time they get arguments on here, and he doesn’t want people afraid to post things here, for fear of being criticized, and i think that’s exactly what’s happening here with people like Nhyrvana, i dunno if she’s threatened by my vast knowledge of yahoo! or what. Different strokes for different folks, everyone has something to offer, if not with their knowledge, then with their lack of knowledge, so other people can help them out, that is what a forum is for.If you want respect from me, you better earn it
