This is driving me nuts, I can’t read or write Chinese and all my settings now are in Chinese. I never set anything to Chinese and now my Yahoo is in Chinese and my My Yahoo mail settings are all in Chinese as well. Anyone know how to change this?
I’d suggest you take a peek through these posts in How to Put Sybmols in Your Yahoo! Nickname And use the information there to try to change your language back to English. Are you sure that no one has access to your account and perhaps changed it to play a joke on you? I hope this helps….that’s really strange that it would change on its own…it’s not such an easy thing to change… I was just thinking…you didn’t get one of those special Chinese accounts that were available about one month ago…did you?
When I click on the first highlighted part you stated it goes to Chinese mode and I can’t see preferences or which part is languages. There are two parts that pop up as well and I don’t know weather the preferences arte the in the top or bottom as I can’t read the funny characters…
What you might want to try…is to make another account…or if you have a friend with an account, ask them to go into the preferences…and then you’ll be able to figure out WHERE to click on things…I don’t know Chinese or I could help you a little bit more. Once you get to the language preferences…if you cannot tell which one is in English you may have to do a bit of trial and error to figure out which is English… But if you get it into Italian or Spanish or even German…it might be easier to figure out from there. In the English version it is like this underneath the first “edit” button:

*first log in to your account at yahoo
*then copy and paste this link to the address box: http://edit.yahoo.com/config/set_intl?.child=&.scrumb=0&.done=http%3a//edit.yahoo.com/config/eval_profile%3f.done=http%3a//my.yahoo.com/%26.scrumb=0
*then just choose the first language selection (which is probably english-US)
*when the TOA (terms of agreement) appears just click the first button and there you go!hope this works out for you too…

The same thing just happen to me too! I searched and found this forum and had to sign up say the same as stylinexpat. You are a genius!!!:o Your suggestion help with the language problem now I just have to wait to be approved again in all the groups that I belong to because Yahoo unsubbed me from all of them!:(
