I sure hope BBB is getting some compensation for all the Brosix advertising we’re supporting here in the forums. Might ought to consider a forum just for it since it’s surfacing everywhere, else even revitalizing posts from 2003!
Am I the only one finding it a bit tiresome?
March 11, 2009 at 10:33 pm #173715FanaticMemberNo, we’re not getting any compensation. Feel free to warn them if they are getting too “spammy” (it seems that they are).
March 11, 2009 at 10:40 pm #173718imported_Ven0mMemberVery tiresome. I almost mistaken them as a SPAM bot earlier and stopped myself before using the One Touch Ban & Clean when I realized they were featured on the main site. 😛
March 11, 2009 at 11:04 pm #173722Doris KenneyParticipantYes well, I’ll send a polite PM asking him to knock it off.
March 12, 2009 at 2:04 am #173716FanaticMemberThere is an infraction system you can use as well. You can view infractions on the member profile (well, staff can, anyway).
March 12, 2009 at 2:13 am #173720Doris KenneyParticipantI may need to go that route but we’ll see what happens. I have PM’d and told him to stop.
March 12, 2009 at 3:16 am #173713FanaticMemberI don’t mind if he/they post, just that they are careful not to come across as shills for the company. Participating in the conversation is fine.
March 12, 2009 at 3:39 am #173721Doris KenneyParticipantOh agreed. I just asked if he’d refrain from using any and every old post as a platform to promote the product.
You might be interested to read this from the page where Brosix is looking to hire a blogger:
Community outreach is the blogger’s time in participating in communities. The blogger will go out into the marketplace and comment on other blogs, in forums, and across the social mediasphere. They will leave a minimum of 20 such comments or conversation starters per month. The URL’s where this occurs will be reported to Brosix for their use and tracking.
Looks like he’s filling his quote quite nicely to me! Kinda changes the perspective a little bit for me at least.
March 12, 2009 at 4:07 am #173717imported_Ven0mMemberHmmm, not good.
March 12, 2009 at 4:34 am #173714FanaticMemberThis isn’t really new. Companies are doing this a lot now, but usually they try to be a LITTLE more sly about it.
And again, I’m okay with them sharing information about their product. I do appreciate it when they are upfront about the fact that they work for the company (some pretend to be unbiased third parties). And I have no tolerance or patience for blatant, unrepentant spam. I’ll give’m a chance, but they need to watch out!
March 12, 2009 at 11:23 am #173719Doris KenneyParticipantFair enough Jeff! I’ll just sit back and watch for now and see if it at least slows the flow of the posts a little.
