This problem just began last week. After signing on to Yahoo and going to a chatroom it will freeze after I see maybe 3 or 4 lines of dialogue on my screen. I also get a msg that they are having trouble connecting to voice chat and will retry. Sometimes after a few minutes all the dialogue that was stopped suddenly flashes on the chatroom screen. If someone invites me to their webcam during this period the webcam box will say “Not Connected” then eventually it moves to “Receiving Images” and may or not let me see the images. If I can see the images, then within a minute the cam will freeze up and the dialogue stops on the chatroom screen also simultaneously. I uninstalled my old version and loaded the new version of YM and it still happens. I recently started using XoftSpy malware detector and I also have Spyware Doctor. Anyone know how I can get back to normal? This has never happened in the years I have been using YM. I’m wondering if my Spyware program deleted something I need in Yahoo?
Oh….. and one other thing…. on the Connections page I am unable to get the “Home Country” drop down to stay as the “United States”. It consistantly defaults to “Canada”. Yes, I even deleted the first upgrade from a few days ago and reinstalled it again and all the problems above STILL happen. Could the “Home Country” section within Connections be causing a problem?
