I’ve come across a very annoying problem with Messenger 9…
Under System – Properties – Advanced – Performance Settings I have “Animate windows when Minimizing/Maximizing” turned off. Every time I launch Messenger 9, the animation gets turned on. I can turn it off again, but the next launch of Messenger reactivates the animation.
Anyone else experiencing this? Any idea how to fix it? Yahoo’s CC has been of no help…

I did a little research on it, and found out that the effect is enabled when clicking the minimize or maximize button of yahoo messenger windows, and it is not enabled during yahoo messenger startup. I reported the problem to yahoo using the messengers built-in function, but got no response (this was while YM 9 was still a beta).
I am now dissapointed to find out that the problem is still there in the release.Have a nice day 🙂
October 19, 2008 at 3:12 pm #171466NettiMemberThere’s a few glitches with the changes not holding and it reverts back to to the default. People need to keep reporting problems and hopefully by next release it will be fixed.

Even in the newly released v9.0.0.2018, the text input size saving issue isn’t fixed. I’ll check the window animation issue tomorrow, but I doubt they fixed it.
October 22, 2008 at 1:59 am #171469PhilipModeratorThe window animation is still sadly present in the latest YM 9.0.0.2018. Frankly, I think some jerk in Yahoo intentionally left this in just because he/she liked it. At least give us the option to turn it off, dude!! The text input size saving issue also hasn’t been fixed, and I doubt it ever will.
Two thumbs down.
