Well it’s not just YM. MSN does it too. And those are the only two messenger services I use. I don’t know what the problem is, but it happened shortly after I installed a Linksys Wireless G Router on my network.
I understand why I get logged back in, because I have the Autmatically Log In Option clicked on in preferences. But as for logging off, I have no clue.
I contacted both Yahoo! and Linksys to see if they could help me solve my problem, but neither of them could do anything to help me. I mean they tried, but their solutions didn’t work. I opened ports on my router, and that didn’t work. So I was wondering if anyone has had the same problems annd if anyone knows how to fix the problem.

June 22, 2006 at 5:28 am #145835StylusMemberHi,
I’ve only just installed my new Linksys WRT54G Wireless router and started having the same intermittent logoff problems with Yahoo Messenger.
I haven’t found any cause yet – as everything else is working fine (I use Skype, MSN Messenger as well as Yahoo).
I’m scouring the forums to see if there’s any sort of solution

I noticed under my network connections was a new internet gateway, so on a hunch I went under add-remove programs/ windows components/networking services and removed the internet gateway device discovery client…I don’t know if it was that component that was causing the problem, or if removing it reset something, but it seemed to do the trick for me.
