If you were to be stranded forever on a desert island and could only have one book to read, which would you want?
From “If…Questions for the Game of Life” by Evelyn McFarlane & James Saywell

August 1, 2001 at 6:48 pm #103157rustedtightMemberThe illustrated guide to – How to attract Sailors to a Desert Island.
October 30, 2001 at 9:40 am #103158shearheavenMemberI agree with you Jeff…since we could only pick one book to read that would be the best pick…But…hehehe…didn’t say anything about writing one…Hmmmmm…”Shearheavens Stranded Island Cookbook”…hehehe…It would bring flocks of people and I would be rescued, and make millions of dollars…lol…Of course is it was the Lords will…lol

June 14, 2002 at 8:41 pm #103170deedlerockMemberI’d take a compilation of the letters (over 300), and poems (about 120), written for me the past ten months by my love in England.
June 15, 2002 at 1:49 pm #103169Zlink123MemberI’d take “The Guide to Upgrading and repairing PCs” by Scott Mueller. It would last me for about 5 years and when (if I ever) got off of the island I would know everything about computers. Of course by the time i got finished reading the book and then got off of the island, all the hardware would be outdated. O well I would just have to be and expert vintage computer builder.
another book that I might consider is one of those, “how to get off a desert island” books. I suppose that would always be good when you are stuck on a desert island.

not…Computer, mans best friend.July 6, 2002 at 1:41 am #103167Mr. DiablosMemberOne book? Can I bring magazines? Well, for books I’d choose ‘War & Peace’ I wouldn’t read it, but it has a lot of pages. I could eat them and live longer than usual.

It’s the only book I’ll ever need to have a great life.July 6, 2002 at 2:36 pm #103164DipeshMemberI would take my Harry Potter books by J.K Rowling.

I’d take The Book of Man.
Ya know.. the theoretical but non-materialisitc book of gene coding to construct humans and their genetics in DNA…
The whole book consists of 4 letters just going on and on and on and on for thousands of pages in specific order(s) to construct genes..A = Adenine (C5H5N5)
T = Thymine (C5H6N2O2)
G = Guanine (C5H5ON5)
C = Cytosine (C4H5N3O)Man, that would be so exciting to read……
NOT
