A friend of mine is on cable. She does leave her computer on (xp), but makes sure she is logged off in the morning before she goes to school. When she does come to school, and log into MSN, after about 5 minutes, it tells her that she has beenn logged off, because she has been signed into another location. We know it is her home location because it is her home display picture, and web cam picture shows up. No one is home at her house to sign in.
what the hell is going on??? she got a virus?
You should to check out This Topic, it may help you.
That link has nothing to do with what I asked. While she is at home, she can connect fine (using MSN 6) with no connection problems with Windows Messenger. It does not sign her out. Its fine. She is logged OUT when she leaves, but when she sign’s in on another computer, it then dissconnects her, saying that she has signed into another location.
Do you understand me now?
MSN Messenger comes with a feature to automatically sign in when connected to the internet, I can’t recall if it only works when you save your sign on details (which would be logical) but it used to cause me problems when I went out to other peoples’ places. So I thought, why not try it 🙂
To disable this feature follow these steps:
1) Go to your contact list.
2) Click on Tools > Options…
3) Click on the General tab
4) Untick “Allow automatic sign in when connected to the Internet”
Hope this works, good luck :).
