I never tried AIM. Why should I? I don’t know anyone that uses it. MSN does not allow offline messages, so that one is out. I voted for ICQ, but I like Yahoo just as much.
Sorry for jumping in late and off-topic, but I wanted to point out that I use Jabber (and through that AIM, ICQ, MSN IM, and YIM) over NAT and it works fine. AIM (official client) also works fine. Haven’t tried the others directly.
Anyway, either ICQ or AIM is probably my favourite if I have to use the official client. MSN IM and YIM’s clients kind of annoyed me. I never use any of them though. Jabber all the way: Psi on Windows and Gabber on Linux.. (Okay, sometimes AIM Express in the computer lab, but that was before I discovered the Java Jabber client.)I really like the look of MSN, but I mostly use AIM since it seems to be easier to share files and pictures. It also may have something to do with the fact that mostly everyone I’m in contact with is using AIM as well.

I voted MSN, since I like it the best of all the big four instant messaging clients. I also like ICQ better than AIM and Yahoo.
i prefer trillian but out of those i would pick aim like jeff said i use it cuz all my friends use it ive never really got in depth with anything else so thats my choice
i started on icq ~ cause thats what everyone at work used…. and all the agencies we worked with used it as well.. i honestly dont know what else was about in 97 and 98…. but we allllll had icq numbers on our business cards…. * we thought we were so l33t……
anyway… then i moved to yahoo when i started chatting…. i only have msn and aim cause of other people who are too stubborn to move lol….

I use MSN.. but that is becoz all my friends from chat use it too… my kids and I have tried the Big 4 … its just where the ol’ crowd hang…I use AIM mostly because thats what all my friends use but if i had to choose which is the best it would be MSN
I like Yahoo. I hate trillian (pro). For clients I prefer either

I use Yahoo, but of course, you cannot use Yahoo without YTunnelPro. There is my problem. I need YTunnel, but there is one female admin on there, which makes the experience unbearable.
If you kiss her rear, things will run smooth, if not, well, good luck. That particular forum, it seems, has fewer post each day. People are starting to catch on that you will more than likely, be publicly humiliated for no good reason. What makes this even worse is; I am paying to be treated this way.
I am starting to play around with MSN, and I know nothing about Trillion, but willing to learn.
Sorry to get off on this subject, I just needed to get it off my chest.:eek:
BigBlueBall forum is the best. It is by far, my favorite forum.
