I’ve been a little behind lately. I know there have been many posts regarding DeadAIM, but I haven’t found this topic. I have DeadAIM 3.2.1, I’m one of those people who say “If it ain’t broke don’t fix it.” Is there a difference between 3.2.1 and 3.2.8? I use AIM for simple purposes which is why I haven’t purchased the newest version 4.1. Thanks in advance.:o
First of all, I may be mistaken, but I don’t think that their is a 3.2.8.
Secondly, it is illegal to download any of the older versions of DeadAIM now. If you want DeadAIM, then you must buy 4.1.
Thirdly, right now you can get all of DeadAIM’s features, plus skinning, for free with AIMutation. And, if you want to wait a bit, then you can wait for Otsego, which is supposed to be the mother of all AIM add-ons.
DeadAIM v3.2.8 was never released. Have a look at this page for the DeadAIM per-release changelog.
I don’t want to advertise anything I’m not supposed to, but a friend had told me that DeadAIM 3.2.8 was an old version that was available to anyone. Anyways I think I’m gonna stick with what I have for now, then eventually purchase 4.1. Thanks guys for the update! This is why I love this website. 😮
I could have sworn I saw a topic on thsi a few days ago and that it’s perfectly legal to use the older free versions…

Personally I doubt this law is enforced very well and there is no “real” way of enforcing it anyhow.

Jdennis said that you couldn’t download DeadAIM older versions free, but I don’t think he really does care, its more just to keep it from popping up all over the web.
