May 29, 2003 at 3:14 pm #63197marissaleMemberfirst of all the guy seems like a jerk and just wants to get attention by saying hey i bet i can get into your computer and see what you got and then poof hes gonna hack you. second you need a firewall one that will not let him come into your computer. because y!tunnel does not stop him from hacking. it only stops him from booting. that will scare the guy away. he will wonder why cant you be booted. then come back later wanting more. and trying his best to boot ya again. and with y!tunnel that you have on your computer will not let him boot ya at all whats so ever. but if he wants to hack you, its best to get a firewall. my suggestion is to get norton 2003 because it lets you know automatically whos hacking you. and when you get a firewall also get a ip sniffer. theres all kinds of people wanting to hack your computer. just some helpful ideas 😉
May 29, 2003 at 4:39 pm #63195NettiMemberYes Ytunnel basic 176 is now free. But please remember that whenever there are new boot programs created, another new version of Ytunnel comes out to blocks those. Now of course there is no way to keep up, but if you buy the new version (196) for a one time fee of $17, it now has an automatic update feature so you don’t have to keep downloading another version. My opinion is to skip version 192 as there were more bugs then not for some people, not all.
I am a firm believer in ytunnel and version 196 has some fantastic features. Plus it’s patched to block some of the newer boots people are experiencing.

Hmmm, I wonder if THIS is why my friend couldn’t see me over last weekend! I think I shall leave it off for awhile and see what happens.
May 29, 2003 at 5:24 pm #63194NettiMemberI don’t think that ytunnel effects you being visible or invisible. This may be another yahoo glitch, like the one where yahoo was putting in very very interesting status messages, even though your status message says available. Our group automatically RE-clicks the available status just in case yahoo felt like changing it. Seems to work well.

June 1, 2003 at 6:02 pm #63198JohnsonMemberUse some common sense, if this guy was a hacker, he could find out were you live very easily, i don’t think he would be asking you, i’m no hacker but i can do a lot of things to mess with people, mainly in Yahoo!, if someones a hacker, most of the time they aren’t gonna come out and say it, especially if you are their target, cause if they are talking about breaking into your pc, that’s illegal as hell, and if ima do something to someone, im not gonna sit and tell them they are a target, when u do that, that puts them on the defensive, like you , you got a firewall and what not, and are afraid of this kid, just use common sense, the main thing is to not accept any files from anyone or dwnld anything from websites unless u know for sure they are safe, and u will be ok 😉
