is there any way i can get Windows Live 8.1 or 8.5 to work?

thanks a lot man. and no i don’t want to switch to SP3. too much hassle and as you’ve said there’s no guarantee that it’ll work. so yeah, let me know if you get any solutions.

well i just signed in using Windows Messenger and everything works perfectly here.

and no i did not lose any of my contacts. just 2 were not showing up in my online list (vice versa in their case) and when i deleted them and tried adding them again it didn’t work. but later on i added them using ebuddy.

thanks a lot for the reply!

the first problem – i actually went through the site before posting the problem and came across a few solutions but those are for versions 8.0 and 8.1. so i thought there might be a solution for this too.

anyway, as for the second problem, i use XP service pack 2 and i have my Firewall switched off. also, i don’t use any router.
