Member1. You need a REGISTRY CLEANER or
2. Yahoo messenger exe. could be corrupted.
3. It’s best you have WEB washer to refresh your CACHE and TEMP folder.
4. Do a CLEAN INSTALLATION —-> takes minutes than hours fixing the problem.– uninstall messenger
– restart PC
– intall messenger from the internet –> dont use the exe files you’ve downloaded. It’s best to allow the program to install the messenger suited for your system.Quote:quote:Originally posted by snugleupagainstOk yall Jon has once again asked me to *ask your messenger website info giver friends* lol So here it is Messenger wont keep his message or chatroom text preferences. I have deleted everything having to do with his ID on the computer! I figure its something in the registry, but when i try to look in it as Ive seen people say to do the stuff they say isn’t there. We have XP it must work differently. Start > Run > Find > Yahoo …… Thats where the likenesses stop. XP takes me to ab (Default) and its a exe. If you can understand what Im talking about and think ya can help please do! TY!

MemberUninstalling YAHOO from drive C or in any drive will not remove itself from the registry. What is left in drive C after uninstalling it are files that need to be deleted manually. You won’t see in drive c, d, etc. the Yahoo ID or profiles…it’s all in the registry.*HANDLE WITH CARE THE REGISTRY* b’coz if you delete something accidentally…some programs might not RUN 😀

Member🙂 I did Xperience the same problem!!!
1. go to internet options and *hit* the delete cookies, delete files, and clear history then, refresh your browser and close it.
2. uninstall yahoo messenger
3. restart your PC
4. go to START –>> RUN and type *regedit* without (*) of course. REGISTRY WINDOW will pop up.
5. at the EDIT MENU select FIND and type *Yahoo* – this will search for Yahoo registry directory.
6. from Yahoo directory click the *+* plus sign to expand the folder. Look for *+Pager* click the plus again and look for *+profiles* you’ll see here all your yahoo ID <<—- from here look for the *FOLDER* of the Yahoo ID you’re having problem with and HIT delete!!!
7. close the REGISTRY window.
8. SHUTDOWN
9. Start your PC and reinstall Yahoo Messenger from the Browser.
