MemberAlleycat,
The story about my friend is true. He is a close personal friend of mine and he has no reason to lie to me. He showed me the investigator’s card and when he was telling me about it, the guys he works with were there and confirmed the story. But…I do understand what you are saying and I probably would have told the investigator to f*** off too. I asked him why he answered the guy’s questions before first making sure the guy was legit instead of after the fact and pretty much..the guy scared and threatened him with jail time.~BuckeyeGirl75

MemberI also do the blue and white snowman theme but this year I just can’t seem to get in the spirit. I work in retail and see it all day long so it’s the last thing I want to think about when I get home. I have bought a few presents and have a few ideas for a few more but it’s way less organized than past years. Hopefully I’ll get more in the spirit as the holidays get closer. It’s been kind of a hectic year so maybe that’s my problem. But to those in the holiday spirits…Happy Holidays!

MemberDiet Coke or Diet Code Red Mt. Dew are my faves but I also like Diet Sierra Mist and Diet Dr. Pepper. I grew up drinking diet pop at my grandparents because my grandfather was a diabetic. Other than at my grandparents we didn’t drink much pop. When I met my husband he was a Pepsi-holic so I started drinking regular pop. Then about 4 years ago I started drinking only diet. Now regular pop is way to sweet. The pop I miss the most is TAB. I can find it every once in awhile and I buy a couple of 12 packs when I find it. Any one else remember TAB? BTW…I’m from Ohio so that’s why I call it pop. I think we are one of the few states that call it that.

MemberThis creeps me out but I know it does happen. They even check out Yahoo profiles. I have a friend that had his opinion about the president and the war…negative as you might have guessed…on his yahoo profile. He had his place of employment listed on his profile and about a half an hour after he got to work one day his boss came in and told him that there was someone there that wanted to talk to him. It was some sort of federal agent. They asked him a million questions and asked him to remove the comments off of his profile. They threatened him that they could arrest him if he did not cooperate. They also told him that he was being flagged on the watch list. He went home and removed the comments and later that night the agent IMed him and thanked him for removing the comments and cooperating. My first question to him was…how do you know that the guy was legit. He says that he called the local FBI field office in Cleveland and they confirmed that the agent was indeed legit. The poor guy is now scared to death that they are watching everything he does…and he’s afraid to fly because he knows that he’s going to be given a hard time. I don’t know if he had been in chat rooms or if they were just scanning profiles or what. But it definitely creeps me out.

MemberFor the first time in years it will be just me, my husband and my daughter. We are going to have an early dinner of turkey, sausage stuffing, sweet potato casserole, green bean casserole, real mashed potatoes, gravy, and double layer pumpkin pie for dessert. My mom will be in Minnesota visiting my uncle and his family and my dad will be in Michigan visiting my brother. After dinner my daughter has to work and my husband and I will be going to visit my grandma in the nursing home. I have to be home early to go to bed though because I have to be at work at 6:30 am on Friday morning. Ahhh..the joys of working in retail! Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

MemberI used to work at Wal-Mart and we had to card for rated “R” movies and even some of the video games that were rated “M” for mature. We also had to card for things such as lighters, spray paint, nicotine patches, and certain cold medicines. There was also a limit of how many you could buy on certain cold medicines such as Sudafed and a few others..don’t remember which ones right off hand…because people use them to make Meth..at least that’s what I was told. With most of these things, if you don’t card, and sell them to minors, and get caught, you get a huge fine and face possible jail time. You are held individually as responsible as the store itself. You never really can tell how old someone is. I myself, was never carded for a pack of cigarettes till I was over 18 because I always looked older than I was. The weirdest thing I ever got carded for was when we went to see the Eminem movie 8 Mile. I got carded when I bought the tickets and when we entered the theater itself and I was 26 or 27 at the time.

MemberI work for John Deere and we have John Deere ‘Opoly. It’s an official version of Monopoly and despite the $39.99 price tag, it sells out as fast as we can get them. I’ve seen a bunch of different versions of Monopoly but don’t remember which ones off the top of my head. I believe I’ve seen college versions, such as Ohio State, Michigan, and Notre Dame. I seem to remember seeing a Cleveland version maybe at the airport or at the mall in Cleveland.

MemberQuote:quote:Originally posted by martin_bradley2002BuckeyeGirl75 – Out of interest, how old is your computer? Mine was about 4 years old when this problem occured.
It’s my brother’s computer. He lives out of state. I’ll ask him how old it is. I’d guess probably about 4-5 years old.

MemberMy brother has a Dell and his is doing the same thing. It has the same yellow light. It’s almost like it’s in hibernation mode. With his though, there is nothing on the monitor. His fans also do not come on. He called Dell and they couldn’t seem to figure out what was wrong with it. So, I’m curious to know if anyone has any ideas also.
