Well, I’ve never ignored anyone before, so I suppose I could be wrong…
But, as I said before, if you go online to Yahoo! Messenger Help, it specifically states that anyone you ignore will not be able to see your status. You can check it out here if you’d like to see for yourself.
I’m sorry, but I think your friend is lying to you. This was taken from Yahoo! Messenger Help:
“When you ignore a contact, you would always appear offline to the contact. They will never be able to view your status or send you an IM. You must delete the contact from your Messenger List in order to ignore them.”
If he had really set you on ignore, there’s no way you could’ve seen his status.
Simply put, screen readers pretty much allow blind people to use computers. If you’d like more information, you can read up on it at Wikipedia.
Searching through past topics, it seems that there really isn’t a way to fix this problem… However some suggestions that were made were to download Trillian, download aimutation (which actually has an option to turn the flashing on/off), or use an older version of AIM. I hope this helps.
I’m not the most knowledgeable on this subject, but judging by this topic, I’d have to say it’s just not possible. Sorry.
I don’t use Yahoo! Messenger all that much, so someone correct me if I’m wrong, but I think all you have to do is right-click on the contact’s name and click on ‘Stealth Settings,’ then click on ‘Permanently Offline,’ and hit ‘OK.’
