When I downloaded WLM2009 the first time, the locations were shown, but only in the conversation window… just below the contact name and status.

and Doris.. yes the location/news feed is in line with the Mail icon.

I had the same version that I have now.. found here:

Messenger – Windows Live

It stopped responding yesterday, so I uninstalled it, then re-installed it. It was working at first, but today I signed out and signed in a few moments later, and it had stopped using that feed. I honestly don’t understand why it stopped working suddenly. My ‘Whats New’ feed is working perfectly, though. It only shows the location for the first few minutes after you start talking to a contact.

No, I didn’t have any add-ons or anything of that sort.

I have attached a prntscrn image of what it looks like from my friends computer.

Under my name, it says, “has new interests – (64 days ago).”

It previous had my location, instead of ‘has new interests.’
