Before that question can really be answered theres 2 other questions that arise.
1. What version of windows are you running?
2. What version of Y! Messy are you running?Be advised that kernel errors are rarely hardware issues so you have little to nothing to worry about there. However you could also have another issue, such as a conflict between Messy and another program. The next question would be when did the problem start? Was it after you installed another program? If so what? If you can remember try removing that program as well. It’s possible that another program you installed after Messy has changed a .dll file or regestry setting which is causing the kernel error with all that being said try the following.
Assuming you are running 5.5 or greater of Messy the problem can be caused by several things. The first thing I would try and do is completely remove Y! Messy, including the directory which will require a reboot. After it has been removed you will want to remove all regestry entires it made. This can be accomplished with a regestry cleaner like Reg Clean 4.1a. After you do all this reboot again go to http://messenger.yahoo.com/ and download the latest version of Messy.
m4id3nMemberNo they are referring to the Windows Messenger Service, which is not to be confused with MSN Messenger. The Windows Messenger Service is a background service in Windows which is generally used in networks to send out administrative alerts. It can also be used on the internet to send SPAM which is why Microsoft has elected to disable it. It has also been proven to be a big security risk in PC that are on the internet. You can disable it by going to your control panel in XP then going to Administrative Tools>>>>> Services and clicking stop then bring up the properties for the Messenger Service and change the startup to disabled. Your computer will Still operate normally and you can still use MSN messanger with no adverse effects.
If you aren’t comfortable doing this yourself there is a program available on http://www.own4ge.com called “Shoot the Messenger” it’s simple to use, is free and will do the job for you with one mouse click.
m4id3nMemberI been on Yahoo for about 3 years now.. I like it. works ok and I wouldn’t say the service sucks… it’s no better or no worse then say botville (AIM) or cyberville (MSN). It has allot of really nice features, more of pretty much everything compaired to the others.
m4id3nMemberI had a similar issue. I could be caused be the fact that NETSCAPE is a DEAD browser (they don’t make it anymore) MY question would be which version of Netscape are you running and do you have access to any other browser (IE, Opera) I have recently switched to IE after having problems with Netscape and it’s new found lack of functionality.
m4id3nMemberTheres an easier way… theres a pair of programs on is called ascii name maker and the other is called profile tweek used together they will force the characters into your profile without a degree in computer science. just make the name with ascii name maker copy the output to profile tweeker put your sn and password in a clikc tweek wait about 5 seconds and all done.
m4id3nMemberThe program your looking for is called magic messy and you can get it at http://own4ge.com theres also another prog there called magic login full which may ot may not work with 5.6.:D
