well wot i did was…went to account info…on the Member Information row click on edit….scroll down to Language & Content change it to chinese or sumthin “Warning if u dun kno wot ur doing it can mess up! so if u have another id check on that wot it says and stuff” anyway…go to Edit/create profile and find invalid symbols

This does work! For those not able to get far from the info above, here is the entire procedure:
- Go to your Account Info and login.
- Under Member Information choose Edit
- Under General Preferences Click on the Language and Content link.
- Choose Chinese-China (Mainland)
- Click the ÎO½OÊÜ button (its the one on the left)
- Go to Edit Profile and click on the link next to your Yahoo ID ([±à¼])
- Next go to the top link in the center that looks like this: ±à¼¸öÈ˵µ°¸
- Then enter in your symbol enhanced nickname in the second field labeled ÄسÆ
- Check the box at the bottom of the page next to ³ÉԱĿ¼ and then click the bottom button
- Your Nickname is now set, next we need to get back to English again.
- Go back to your Account Info and login again if prompted
- In the field labeled Óû§ÐÅÏ¢ hit the Edit button and at the bottom of the page next to ÓïÑÔ¼°ÄÚÈÝ£º click the link
- Change your setting back to English – US or UK or whichever region applies to you. (Canada doesn't offer Nicknames, so choose U.S.)
- Hit the button at the bottom labeled Íê³É (on the left) and Accept the TOS agreement.
- Click the Finished button on the Top or Bottom of the page and proceed to Yahoo! Chat with your brand new “enhanced” nickname.
That's it my friends, see the proof in my new nickname enhanced profile. 🙂

http://www.zer-o.com/ascii.html Is an ascii character table a buddy of mine made, you can copy an paste them from that, he said it was a full table.
Theres an easier way… theres a pair of programs on is called ascii name maker and the other is called profile tweek used together they will force the characters into your profile without a degree in computer science. just make the name with ascii name maker copy the output to profile tweeker put your sn and password in a clikc tweek wait about 5 seconds and all done.
try looking at http://own4ge.com you'll need to become a member to download the programs, but it's free.. the programs are listen under Yahoo toys. HAVE FUN

It's in the post above you mmlsz, you will have to sign up to download though. The site isn't in great shape though, I had to scroll down to the very bottom to see the content.
Why not try my step-by-step instructions and use Johnsons ACSII character table here – http://www.zer-o.com/ascii.html, which includes the codes for the special characters.
ya i do follow ur step by step .. infact i can read the chinese word also and my com do install chinese font in IE …

I've decided to host the Yahoo Profile Tweaker and Ascii Character Generator for a limited time. I've tested these and they work fine. Get them here. Update: The Profile Tweaker is currently unable to change your nickname, please use the manual way for now
The Profile Tweaker will force in ASCII characters into your nickname and also allows a four digit age for all you immortals.
