I’m glad you want to help, but we discourage personal contact as it helps no one down the line. Please just provide a link to where we can find this program, or attach it to a post using the Attachment feature, or email it to me to review and post here. Thanks! 🙂April 5, 2005 at 5:49 pm #54705Sickwit__it

MemberShouldn’t matter what OS you’re on – the options of languages are what Yahoo! servers have. They may have taken the language off due to people doing these symbols. I’ll have to check later though.

You can’t make id’s using those symbols, only put them as nicknames.May 14, 2005 at 4:39 am #54662EliteNick
MemberActually, you can to a certain point. Some foreign Yahoo! sites are letting people make ID’s that contains dots and such…but really, you still can’t make ID’s like BLAH____________ ….you may see people with them in chat rooms, but that’s because the ID was made before Yahoo! decided to not allow ID’s like that, but didn’t deactivate the ID after the ban on the certain symbols. The people who have them now either created them a long time ago and still have them, or have recieved them from someone else…or cracked it…lol.

ParticipantNames with dots in them that are appearing lately are E-mail companies that have signed up with yahoo to provide users in china with e-mail accounts and yahoo let their made accounts use their services ( Chat, blogs…etc).
These accounts are for Chinese people only but it seems yahoo allow other countries to register and change the international language of these accounts.
i will list just a few examples of these e-mail companies who have become partners with yahoo!.
I will not show you how to register an id or to read chinese.
YAHOOID.3721 – https://reg.cn.yahoo.com/3721/index
YAHOOID.9Sky – http://vip.9sky.com/Register.HTM
YAHOOID.9You – http://usercenter.9you.com/yahoo/
YAHOOID.dangdang – https://reg.cn.yahoo.com/dangdang/index
YAHOOID.HeroGame – http://cn.mail.yahoo.com/login/oem.html
YAHOOID.Soit – http://www.soit.com.cn/reg.php?ref=
This is just a few of the ones available and if some of these links dont work then perhaps yahoo wised up and stopped non chinese people signing up for those accounts.
(ps the links are invisible to right of the YAHOOID.name part.)

Memberlol @ teaching how to read Chinese. Yeah..I mean I know some like my265 and all of that…there was actually a time when you could make an ID like hello.fan, hello.me, like they let you select from a variety of names after the dot, they were actually like chinese last names, but some words were American words we could use lol. I made hardtrance.fan. Anyway, this was for the Chinese version of Yahoo! Mail…then I dunno one day they took the dot thing away, I supposed Yahoo! America didn’t like that too much.

Welcome to BBB.Do you mean change the color of the nickname on Yahoo Messenger or the nickname in Yahoo Profiles? If you mean on messenger go to Messenger then Preferences then Appearances then under “List Text” Click on Font Color and pick the color you want. And that should do it. But if you mean profiles, i don’t think that can be done.
