You could be right. The last time I saw this problem occurring was 3 or 4 days ago.

In the cases I’ve seen so far, the message shows up just to the right of the person’s name on my friends’ list. Nothing unusual is displayed on the friend’s PC.
Since I posted the message that began this thread, I’ve had two friends who don’t own webcams have a “View My Webcam” status message appear on my friends’ list next to their names. More strangeness.
I’d like to see a “knock” feature on Messenger like the one on Yahelite that repeatedly tries to enter a full chat room until the user is able to get in.
I know if you have Y Tunnel, you can have an unlimited ignore list. I’m not sure about being able to expand the friends’ list past 100.
I’m not sure if there are any other requirements but one condition for using super mode is that both the cam viewer and the person being viewed must have a high speed connection (cable or DSL) for super mode to operate. Perhaps others here can elaborate on this a little.

That may be true, but as a regular in Yahoo chat, the first I noticed it as a system wide problem was about 2 weeks or so ago.
It’s a Yahoo problem, not a user problem. Problems like this have been showing up over the last week or two. A related problem has been one where chatters’ names and chat room text don’t appear for some others in the room. There’s nothing you can do about it other than curse Yahoo.
I know someone who’s been able to do it by having Messenger and Yahelite, which are two different versions of the same program, running simulataneously. Other than that, I know of no way it can be done.
Y Tunnel Pro has a super iggy bin with an unlimited capacity that will allow you to ignore to your heart’s content. I believe it costs $17.95.
