is AOL doing anything to their servers? I got disconnected again last night after been connected for over 15 hours…AIM re-connected right away, but was showing everyone has being offline on my buddy list so I had to restart AIM.
I had the same problem this afternoon as well. Seems like AIM is still acting up a bit tonight – was disconnected twice already.
or could always use an add-on for MSN like Plus!. just enable logging and it will tell if the person set away or is idle.
another way is still being connected to aim and being away and then putting your computer in “sleep” mode..once you take the computer out of sleep mode aim will re-connected itself with the same away message you still had right up before putting the computer in sleep mode.
I tried it myself so I know it works.
there is a program on here that someone made which checks if the person is invisble or not. You could also just check the person profile..if the profile shows up her/she is invisible if you get “Buddy Info for s/n of the person is not available.” then they are offline and not invisible.
I have flash installed already…I deleted it and installed it again same with the messenger and I’m still having the same problem..might be some kind of bug with my computer.
I found out the reason why it won’t connect on me..i’m using a firewall- ZoneAlarm. When I take it off..it connects.
how do I configue the audio to connect on the firewall? it works with a web cam and signing on to MSN fine..give it permission there..but the audio part won’t connect with the firewall on.
I only bumped it because the thread was about to go on the second page.
I completely unstalled it and re-installed it again and still the same error message. it works fine on my friends side, just on my side it doesn’t want to load up.
I’m using a cable modem and have Windows XP. The audio always worked for me in 6.0 and 6.1. It just keep saying “conneting to “name of buddy” and after 1-2 mins it stops connecting.
the web cam connects fine though.
