Unknown, I noticed lately that whenever there is a big program issue Cerulean Studios immediatly shuts down their forums to prevent people from posting. Alas, is the case at this moment, too, so no go on visiting their forum.
I feel so much better. I’ve spent the past few days in the trillian forums trying to tell them I could not stay connected to yahoo and them having me try all sorts of ports and connection URLs stuff to no avail. They acted like there was something wrong with my machine. :p
I see no reason to flame Lana…the debate between her and Jeff was most entertaining! (and everyone behaved well )
What I don’t understand is rustedtight’s obsessive editing all over this thread, including my posts with no explaination…
Am I to understand that even those that have upgraded to 2.0 are still getting the warning pop-up from MSN when running Trillian?
I’ve been bombarded with messages from both msn and yahoo. Any confirmation that Trillian 2.0 kills these announcements?
I agree with Lana…there are more issues than just the protocol used to connect. BTW, any and all announcements/discussion about this were removed from the official website, including the one quoted.

No, trillian does not have IMvironments and the same smilies. Actually…the questions you need are the ones only you can answer…
Do I use one chat client most of the time?
If you don’t use multiple chat clients on a regular basis, why do you need a program that supports multiple chat clients?Do I use features in my favorite chat client that trillian doesn’t have?
Make yourself a list – trillian is pretty spartin in it’s fancy extras. However, if all you do is type and chat, by golly trillian can take care of you.Am I willing to pay for connectivity?
All signs point to free users being left in the cold, and iffy if pay users will continue to have connectivity. (My opinion, there are others.)

My impending purchase for 2.0 Pro is on hold until further notice. Looks like I am going to go back to the original IMs. It’s a shame, I really liked Trillian. But if there is one thing I HATE in any software/site provider, is smoke and mirrors and avoiding the questions. The shut down on the forums was too coincidental for my taste.
So, we are being told here, don’t believe the articles at c|net and on yahoo, don’t believe what microsoft says, believe US, everything is hunky-dory fine, but no…er, we have no confirmation of that and can’t say for sure and there is no proof and don’t bother to find out at CeruleanStudios.com because it’s completely devoid of any mention of the subject.
