MemberYou’ve also raised a good point, Hasan. The disconnect does indeed occur exactly 60 minutes after being on GoogleTalk. Not a big issue; a couple of clicks and I’m back in. Google announced yesterday it’ll be adding chat to their GMail – how neat is that?! 🙂 I agree with Mr. Salad’s point about Google being quite sensitive; but the quality of voice is still, imho, very good. Thanks, Hasan and Mr. Salad for your input.

MemberI have a few invites if anyone is interested. Please click on my name for email info. You must put “Live Invite” in the subject line as I do not open mail from unknown addresses. Thanks.

MemberHmm: Good point, Mr. Salad. I didn’t think of it, but seeing as I use a wireless router/modem, I’m not surprised little blips could do that. Thanks!

MemberHello Hungryleo: I have experienced (and still do!) the same problem with audio on msn; be it v. 7.5 or Live 8.I thought it could have been a transatlantic problem; but even being in the same room/same country as a contact on my list did not give audio. The only way I could us msn webcam and audio chat was to open up Google Talk in a separate window. It’s only a bandaid solution; but after spending days upon days trying to fix msn audio, I had one nerve left and decided to spend it wisely – I gave up; lol 🙂 The end result was that I could talk with friends/family and that’s all that mattered. Good luck to you, Hungryleo!

MemberHello, Kilpateye: I returned to Canada (from the U.K.) for the Holidays and found the same thing. Mysteriously as well, each night, precisely at midnight U.K. time, my chat partners msn boots him. Every night at the stroke of midnight 🙂 We’ve tried six ways to Sunday to fix the mic problem; even d/loading an earlier v. of msn; but it didn’t work. What I was left with was to use msn for cam and logged into googletalk for mic. A bit of a pain, but it works fine.

MemberNo problem, trekkn 🙂
I thought it may have been coincidental that my multiple windows problem happened the same time my msn IM didn’t ‘bing’ either. Good luck to you!sweetpeach
MemberHello, Trekkn. I had the same problem with msn. I’m not sure if it’s coincidence or not, but at the same time, I noticed too that I could not click from one window to another on my screen, but had to shrink the top window, then the next to get to the last window. A quick fix was to do a restore to 2 days prior to when this started happening. From “start”, click “help and support” and choose “undo harmful changes to your system”. These may differ in wording, based on your system. Click “system restore” then “restore my computer to an earlier time”. You can pick which date you’d like to take your system back; you will not lose any updates, d/loads, etc…you had currently done. If you change your mind, you can always “undo” your restore. I’m not sure this is the best answer, but it solved my problem.

MemberHello, Jeff: I would love to have an invite for Messenger Live! If you have one left, I’d surely appreciate it. Thank you! 🙂

MemberI too have had this constant problem with msn. If it doesn’t happen to me, it’ll happen to the person I am chatting with; retyping the same sentence 5 or 6 times usually gets it sent-but what a pain! I thought it was a connection problem *eyes cat ferociously* – but as it happens to my chat partner as well; I’ve ruled that out. Reinstalling didn’t help either. A precurser to this is when msn suddenly freezes (cam; voice and chat). I’ve learned to live with it, but it is annoying. :o)

MemberThank you, Netti for the helpful tips; and I’m sorry for asking an MSN ? on Yahoo forum = newbie :o) The only thing I’ve done within the past month is updated Java and updated LinkSys (main router for wireless cable goes through a desktop to my laptop). I did read the recent news about Yahoo making changes; and will be patient and wait to see if that may be the answer. I don’t think updating java or linksys would do this; and I don’t run adwares; firewalls or spyware. I appreciate your help, Netti – thank you again.
