MemberTry reinstalling DeadAIM by going into the Control Panel–>Add/Remove Programs–>choose DeadAIM–>choose Add/Remove (or Change/Remove for Windows 2000/XP)–>when DeadAIM setup appears, choose Repair. If the message still pops up, then choose Remove instead, then install DeadAIM from scratch. Your IM logs won’t be removed after you uninstall DeadAIM.

MemberThe same thing happened to me after I installed AIMutation with AIM 5.5. I’m not sure if it’s compatible with AIM 5.5, I assume it’s not but I could be wrong.
syntax
MemberThe newest version in the UK (http://www.aim.co.uk/aim) is AIM 5.1 but you can still download 5.5 from the US site (http://www.aim.com)
syntax
MemberYou can install AIM 5.2 in one folder and AIM 5.5 in another, but you can only run one version at a time. For example, say you installed AIM 5.2 in the Program Files/AIM95 directory and AIM 5.5 in the Program Files/AIM directory. If you go into the Program Files/AIM95 folder and start AIM 5.2, then you go into the Program Files/AIM folder and start AIM 5.5, it will bring up the AIM 5.2 sign on screen since it was started first. That said, you can’t run both at the same time only the one that is executed first.

MemberYeah, I too had problems with the software. The first time I installed it, the installation program froze. I restarted and installed again and it worked. But, the program wouldn’t even let me sign in to AIM. So, I had to uninstall it and restart my computer as WhiteMateria said.
syntax
MemberThanks for the info. After I restarted my computer and went back into the Add/Remove Programs, it was still there. So, I double-clicked it and it told me that it had already been uninstalled and it was removed from the programs list. I still took both of your advice just in case it didn’t work.

syntax
MemberWith screen name linking, you lack the capability of entering chat rooms, which is one of the problems. Another is that the linked SNs don’t take their formatting changes as they would if they were signed on as a primary SN, ie. my SN, Sprmn954 would be signed on without the capital S in the beginning.
With AIM cloning, you get a complete copy of the AIM program.syntax
Memberyeah, same here. idk if you can upgrade to elite status to prevent it but the longest I’ve ever been online was 4 days

MemberThe product information says that it is compatible with universal IM applications, like Trillian
syntax
MemberIt works with all of the major programs like AIM, MSN Messenger, and Yahoo! Messenger. But, I’m not sure if it works with the alternative ones like Trillian.
