Well obviously it isn’t a stealth settings issue so I retract my earlier post,and I’m not trying to disprove anybody when the facts are staring me in the face,but at the same time I can’t really explain why its working for me and not for you,but this is yahoo after all and anything is possible really. 🙂

having said that I used an ID on yahelite to display the status,but I dont think thats relevant because messenger still shows my yahelites ID’s status.
Hi Sashaa,there should be no reason you/or your friends cannot put Merry Christmas in your status,just for my own curiousity I tried this myself,and it worked and my friends could see the status message and I could see theirs.
Perhaps you might want to check with your friends that they do not have their stealth settings set to appear offline to you and vice versa.

Firstly make sure your sound recording is set to your microphone,navigate to control panel,sounds & audio devices,click the third button(audio) and set the middle option(sound recording)to your microphone.Then go to messsenger -login- go to actions,and use the call setup option,run this and hopefully you will be able to call computers.

(edit)you may also have to port forward on your LAN,if this option is available,I believe the ports needed are 5000-5010 udp/tcp.
If none of the above works,then contact your ISP.

I think you have to remove buddies/people from your list before you put them in the ignore the following people list.

truth is you cannot 100% successfully stop a booter,you can however make it harder for them to boot you.One option would be using the cloaked option on ytunnel http://forum.ytunnelpro.com/viewtopic.php?t=5829&highlight=alias+profiles ,that way you won’t get those pm’s,it makes it harder for the booter to know if you are in the room because cloaking uses alias names and not main ID.
Or you could just download yahelite or yazak,which are free and offer chat2 funtionality(harder to boot)plus IMO have better filters than ytunnel.But for the moment I would cloak on ytunnel.
Also make sure you are using a compatible versions/ytunnel/YIM …
Your yahoo messenger prob sounds like a script issue,(as posted all over this board) go here http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/s…displaylang=en and type in script 5.6 …and follow the download instructions,when it installs reboot.
Im not 100% up to date with symantec AV ,,but are there options in the Anti virus for blocking URL’s,active x or cookies?,if so the program may have added hotmail url to a block list,either that or your internet explorer got hit with spyware,malware,or some sort of browser hijack.Reinstall or repair Internet explorer(thats is you want to go back to IE).Depending on your Operating system there are many sites which explain how to repair IE..
Incidently when you were using IE to try access hotmail,did you got into internet options and try lower the security settings?
This really isn’t the site to be asking for an illegal copy of ytunnelpro.But in the mean time you could use yahelite..its free,and has just as good filters as ytunnelpro.

Not sure how’d you resolve your first problem,but I have the exact same problem with with the IM “is tying message” thing,and I have never found a solution to my problem,I have a 3mb dsl connection/router/hardware firewall and configuring my router and firewall didnt help,the only thing I can attribute is that I’m lagging,I do have lowish ping times while connection to yahoo servers so that could be part of my issue.
Have you tested on other ID’s?
It really depends on how many bots are brought into the room,if you can bring in more voice bots that the original mass iggier then you can take the mic
edit** what I said doesnt evade mass iggy,but with the right tool and enough bots you can counter and take the mic back.
Great news for booters,bad news for those of us who just want to chat in peace,I suppose chat2 is better than nothing. :(( sad day
Its either two things I can think of right now.
1.The person has created a name very similiar to yours..e.g.the use of uppercase and lower case can fool people into thinking the ID’s are the same when they are not.
2.They used a bot program..mostly booter programs have this added option of cloning names and copying chat text.I havent seen cloned ID’s in a long time so I don’t know for sure if it’s been patched.
From past experiences IIRC the person would log in a bot into a program,and within the program there would be two spaces where the username and text can be posted.Third party clients like yahelite or ymlite or yazak filter out these bots and iggy them instantly.

Is there a script error when it freezes up?
I think you would have to use yahoo groups to do that.Create the room using the chat option in yahoo groups(it uses java chat IIRC).Make note of the room you’ve created and leave one bot in that room.
Then open up yahoo messenger using another ID,join any room and when you’ve joined a room use the /join roomname command ..(ie)/join myleague or whatever the name of the room you’ve created is.Should take you to that room,and then notify the people you want to join via IM what the room name is or they can use the /goto username command in chat to follow you into your room.I’m not sure if yahoo accepts (dots – .) in user created rooms,its been a while since I’ve created one,so not entirely sure about that.
**ps group chat room names don’t show up on yahoo messenger chat room lists IIRC,so you’ll have to notify the people yourself on how to get to your room,and the commands to use.
I’m pretty sure that’s the only way.But I could be wrong.
