If u open your browser, go under tools to colors (or fonts and colors in firefox), u can see that the visited link is colured purple and the unvisited link is blue. Those are the default colours, and if u dont like them u can change them. So it has nothing to do with background colours, or expressions.
This has nothing to do with AIM profiles. You can change those colors all you want and it won’t effect your AIM profile. When you have a white background, the link shows blue. When you have a black background, it will turn purple because it is easier to read than the blue on black.
5.2 doesnt keep your Group name pointers the way u want them. If you want them to appear the way you left them, you have to update to at least 5.5.3595
Linksys does seem to have the most problems with AIM.. I don’t even think most people need to configure D-Link.
Make sure under “Restrict Access” that AIM isnt blocked in the “Blocked Services” section.

Make sure in your router config ( http://192.168.1.1 ) you have your right IP address.
Go to Start > Run > cmd .. at the prompt type “ipconfig”
Uninstall 5.5.3595 then go to My Computer > Local Disk (C) > and delete the AIM folder.
Then re-install 5.5.3595 at http://www.oldversion.com
