ParticipantHow people are stealing #’s
What they are doing, is checking the primary email of the ICQ #. They see if its a place such as Hotmail, or any other free service. Then They go and try to register it. If they can. They then goto the ICQ password retrievel site, and have the password sent to it. The problem is, places like Hotmail expire after 30 days of non-use leaving those emails open. If you have this as your primary, I suggest you change it to an email address from an ISP to protect it. Also, make it non viewable. If you plan on using a free email address, just make sure that it is one that doesnt expire, or that you log in every 10-15 days just to keep it active.
As usual, hope this offers some solutions 🙂

ParticipantYes it is much better. You can almost Customize it to exactly what you want. It connects to every major IM service (ICQ, AIM, Jabber, and MSN by default, and others with free plugins on thier site)
As I said, im new at Miranda, and I have even payed for Trillian to get the multisupport. This seems much better.
Here is an image of my customized client, after only 1 day of use!

ParticipantI downloaded Miranda last night, and played around with the plugins and such. It seemed to be a great client for those of you who use mulitple Chat Clients. I Have also have trillian pro, and Miranda has more options, customizations, plugins, and best of all its free.

ParticipantTo remove the Ad’s in 1253 goto your LiteDataFiles directory. Delete the files Banners.xml clbanner.xml and psearch.xml.
Next put a folder for each you deleted. Yes put .xml just as if it was a file. This will prevent ICQ from auto updating the file.
This will replace the WinAmp ad with an ICQ lite logo, and remove banner ad’s from you message.
If you would like to make the ICQ lite logo blank. Also delete climage.html and create the folder climage.html in that place. This leaves and ugly white box though so I prefer just leaving the logo 🙂
Hope this helps someone out there.
